I don’t like how Gates reminds me of Cuonzo with SEC road games.

dlphg9 02-04-2023 06:58 PM

Miss after miss after ****ing miss.

dlphg9 02-04-2023 06:59 PM

Now just playing sloppy as ****.

dlphg9 02-04-2023 07:00 PM

Yep, Hodge deflated the comeback by missing 2 god damn FTs. Just not our night. Can't make shit.

They can’t make shots on the road, Ole Miss game was the exception.

DJ's left nut 02-04-2023 10:07 PM

Played a solid game - just couldn't hit shots.

That's the thing that's most frustrating about college basketball. It's just the inconsistency in shotmaking and it seems totally random.

It's why I prefer the NBA. They can shoot. They largely make the shots they should so the results tend to be pretty representative of who played a better game.

But in college you see teams play better but just not get shots to fall every 4-5 games.

Pepe Silvia 02-11-2023 07:17 PM

SEC refs steal the game from Mizzou. This hick conference will never let them compete in any sport.

Pepe Silvia 02-11-2023 07:19 PM

And Gholston saves Mizzou, Justice Baby.

Prison Bitch 02-11-2023 07:20 PM

Wow

phisherman 02-11-2023 07:22 PM

What a finish! This team has some grit.

POND_OF_RED 02-11-2023 07:24 PM

Fantastic win. To build that large lead, lose it and still fight back for the buzzer beating long heave. Incredible stuff. M-I-Z!!!

Chiefspants 02-11-2023 07:27 PM

Holy ****

OKchiefs 02-11-2023 07:32 PM

And without Mosley. That dude can hit the road, team can’t count on him and they don’t need him.

Boxer_Chief 02-11-2023 07:32 PM

The officiating the second half was the worst I’ve seen and that’s saying something since the time we joined the SEC we’ve been an unwanted cousin when it comes to calls. That shot to nail it was an absolute ball don’t lie moment.

He is a cancer. I heard earlier this year that he kept missing practices and missing games, that was confirmed when he did it again for the Mississippi State game last week.

That was a lucky as shit prayer at the end, but it doesn't happen if the team doesn't keep battling after blowing that lead and going down by 7 (?). A lot of teams would have packed it in and got blown out at that point.

And FU to the refs for turning it into a whistle-fest for UT in the second half.

Didn’t give Kobe his And 1 either. They were trying to hand that game to UT.

jjchieffan 02-11-2023 09:24 PM

Wow! I had a busy day and missed the game. I fully expected to see a loss today. Gates was such a great hire. This year one turn around has me excited for what he can do in the coming years. It's been a long time since I've had this much optimism for Mizzou basketball. I guess that I was excited about Martin when he landed Porter, but we knew from the beginning that he would be gone after one season. Then he got hurt and things just never got on track to make me optimistic like this.

Mizzou_8541 02-11-2023 10:01 PM

Those are games you don’t see Mizzou win often. Up big, in the road, give up the lead, fight back and win. Don’t care if it’s a relatively low percentage shot. Good teams find a way.

I still think this is a Sweet 16 team.

Mizzou_8541 02-11-2023 10:10 PM

I get your point at being lucky, and you’re right to a degree I think. There was some luck involved but it wasn’t like a 3/4 court baseball throw 3 pointer at the buzzer. It was like a 28-footer. Definitely not impossible, and he’s done it twice this year.

dlphg9 02-12-2023 12:39 PM

Hell of a win! Kobe Brown is turning into one of Mizzou's best players in its history. He's just so ****ing good. Guessing Mosley's having some mental health issues again. Hope he can get that back on track.

dlphg9 02-12-2023 12:40 PM

I can't remember a time we had so many top 25 quality wins. I'm used to losing those, especially top 10 teams on the road.

BryanBusby 02-12-2023 12:45 PM

Would rather be lucky than typical Mizzou shit.

TomBarndtsTwin 02-12-2023 12:45 PM

What a finish! Even if that prayer from nearly half court hadn’t gone in, this would have been a big momentum boost for Mizzou. The kind of game that can propel a strong finish to the regular season and get the guys believing ‘hey, we can play with anyone come Tourney time’. Obviously it doesn’t guarantee anything as the Tourney is largely a crap shoot, but you can certainly see a path to the Sweet 16 for this team if they’re on. Get there and who knows what can happen.

This was a gutsy performance by this Mizzou team on the road, outcome be damned.

Mizzou has had enough bad luck, that we deserve some luck sometime.

WhawhaWhat 02-14-2023 08:00 PM

Were they aware they had a game today?

dlphg9 02-14-2023 11:42 PM

Jesus, what a shitty performance from everyone involved.

Have we heard anything about Mosley? Or is it hush hush again?

He was involved in a hit and run, he hit a parked car. It’s in the Mosely thread on SEC Rant.

Well let’s put it this way, I told you he was missing games and practices, you said BS and then he did it again and missed the flight to the Mississippi State game. Lol

dlphg9 02-21-2023 08:03 PM

****ing looking pretty shitty last couple of games. 1/12 I think from FT in 2nd half. Should have put this shit away already.

Pepe Silvia 02-21-2023 08:09 PM

And he missed an easy bunny for the win, Mizzou is losing this game.

dlphg9 02-21-2023 08:10 PM

Jesus ****ing Christ and now OT. Should have won it there at the end too. Missed a layup.

Mississippi State has had a lot of luck the second half of this season.

Pepe Silvia 02-21-2023 08:13 PM

I guess Mississippi State can pokes out eyes now.

dlphg9 02-21-2023 08:23 PM

Nick ****ing Honor! Holy shit. Ice in his veins!

I was worried when Browns lay up didn’t fall, looked like it wasn’t meant to be.

TrebMaxx 02-21-2023 08:24 PM

A win is a win. That was gritty and ugly.

dlphg9 02-21-2023 08:25 PM

When he shot that first 3 I was like OMG no not you, then he shot the game winning one and I was like OMG don't shoot idiot. I don't know shit lol

dlphg9 02-25-2023 01:06 PM

Hell of an inbounds play there to Gomillion.

dlphg9 02-25-2023 01:10 PM

When D'Moi is on he's on. They're letting Georgia be extremely rough on D. Not calling a lot of fouls that should be called.

Sassy Squatch 02-25-2023 01:22 PM

What type of seeding are we looking at now? Gotta be climbing up pretty high at this point.

bsp4444 02-25-2023 01:35 PM

9

dlphg9 02-25-2023 01:37 PM

Absolutely pouring it on these bitches as they brick 3 pointers.

Boxer_Chief 02-25-2023 01:43 PM

Man I forgot how good Gomillion is while he was out. Took him for granted but he’s a damn baller, does it all.

dlphg9 02-25-2023 01:51 PM

We should be quite a bit higher than a 9 seed, but that's what they're saying. Hell we should be ranked. About to be 21-8 and we have lost to:

Rankings at time of loss:
#6 KU
#13 Arkansas
#4 Alabama
#25 Texas AM x2
19-9 Auburn
18-10 Mississippi State
14-14 Florida - bad loss

We have some pretty damn good wins (rankings at time of win)

Illinois - 16th
Kentucky - 17th
Arkansas - 25th
Iowa State - 12th
Tennessee - 5th

So 1 bad loss and it was to a current .500 team.

We should be a 7 at worse.

dlphg9 02-25-2023 02:01 PM

Holy shit, Ive never heard Hodge talk before. Lmao.

Pepe Silvia 02-25-2023 02:22 PM

Missed the game, glad they beat Georgia. Need those road wins.

The big 12 is hogging all the top seeds because it’s “such a tough conference and they beat each other up” as Kansas has pulled away from the pack. The SEC is a tough conference this year yet we don’t get the benefit of the doubt for some reason.

I think an 8 seed. We can shoot good enough to be sweet 16.

Sassy Squatch 02-25-2023 08:50 PM

Puts us against a 1 or 2 seed in the second round. That kind of sucks but whatever.

I hear you but if we shot well we can beat anyone in the country except maybe Kansas. We get past them then final four is within reach.

TomBarndtsTwin 03-01-2023 09:00 PM

Down by 13 at the half to an LSU team that’s 3 games under .500. Of course, normal SEC road shenanigans. Mizzou whistled for 9 fouls, LSU only 4.

And it doesn’t help that LSU is shooting 100% (12-12) from the charity stripe and 75% (11-15) from behind the arc.

Hopefully they cool off in the second half. Kind of hard to win when the other team is doing that, especially on the road.

dlphg9 03-01-2023 09:06 PM

Our offense is infuriating when they're not hitting 3's. Lots of running down court and jacking up a 3 without a pass.

dlphg9 03-01-2023 09:17 PM

That was clean as ****. Jesus **** these refs.

dlphg9 03-01-2023 09:25 PM

D' Moi Hodge is really ****ing good on D.

dlphg9 03-01-2023 09:34 PM

God damn this team is fun to watch. D' Moi ****ing Hodge is keeping us in this.

Gets a steal and ties MU's all time steal record, then shortly after he makes a 3, gets another steal to take sole leadership of 1st place, and right after that he goes down and ties the game with another 3. That all happened in 3 straight possessions.

Umm why hasn't the score changed from 66 to 68

TomBarndtsTwin 03-01-2023 09:34 PM

All tied up.

Dartgod 03-01-2023 09:36 PM

****ing refs.

Reerun_KC 03-01-2023 09:40 PM

Those pesky refs.

dlphg9 03-01-2023 09:46 PM

Tough comeback road win there for Mizzou. D locked it down in the 2nd half, particularly the last 5 minutes.

Pepe Silvia 03-01-2023 10:06 PM

Nice win now beat Ole Miss and win one SEC Tourney game.

jjchieffan 03-01-2023 10:16 PM

Hopefully they win more than one game in the SEC tournament. A good showing in that tournament should help their seeding. I'm still hoping to see a 6 seed. Though I'm expecting a 7 or 8

Pepe Silvia 03-01-2023 10:18 PM

Mizzou is going to shoot cold soon so I would like to get that cold shooting game out of the way in the SEC Tourney.

Ron Swanson 03-01-2023 10:18 PM

I know what you mean. I had low expectations for this season. I wanted to see improvement, but I never really considered that they would make the tournament this year. Coach Gates was a great hire. I'm looking forward to seeing what he can do with a team built from 4 years of his recruits
