I just rewatched our game with the Jags from earlier in the season last night. It really is amazing that game ended up being only a 10 point victory. The Chiefs turned it over twice (Pacheco fumbling when we were in the redzone and about to score, Pat's INT to Cisco on Jags side of the field that they turned into points), the unexpected on-side kick to open the game (granted, the Jags didn't do anything with the free possession). The TD by the Jags that they scored before the end of the 1st half when there was under a minute left when they started with the ball after the Chiefs own TD. Lots of weird fluky shit. And yet, the game NEVER felt like it was in doubt. The Chiefs were in control from the opening whistle.
I specifically watched Lawrence to see how HE played. Honestly, he didn't look a lot different than he did last week in the second half of the Chargers game. He made several really good throws in the first KC game. Didn't turn the ball over. The thing I DID notice was he was under a LOT of pressure the whole game from the Chiefs D-Line. Kansas City had 5 sacks and 7 TFL, but there were a LOT of QB pressures. The run game, outside of a couple okay runs by Etienne was almost completely shut down. Lawrence finished 30-40 with 260 yards, 2TD's and 0 INT's. He played a good game. Kirk had over 100 yards on 9 catches and 2TD's. Also, a really good game. I guess I don't honestly see how the Jags can play much better than they did that game and even make the game interesting. When the Chiefs had the ball on offense, they moved it AT WILL, with little difficulty. The Jags weren't able to do anything to stop them. The Chiefs stopped themselves a few times (the Pacheco fumble, the Pat INT, couple missed throws by Pat on 3rd down), but their was ZERO resistance from the Jags D (except that Cisco ****er who tried to take out two of our WR's with blindside hits). No one else on the Jags defense that day looked like they even had a clue on how to slow KC down (I guess I shouldn't be surprised with Bob Sutton on their sideline). The Chiefs should have hung a 40 burger . . . . . . . . and done so with little effort. Usually, if you're a good team or even a 'solid' team (we'll call the Jags that for arguments sake) and you go on the road, steal an extra possession on the opening kickoff with an onside kick, force 2 turnovers, don't turn the ball over yourself and play well on offense, you're either gonna win the game or at least keep it close down the stretch. This wasn't the case here. Watching the game, you never felt like the Jags had a chance. If the Chiefs were extra motivated against the Jags for some reason (and, they weren't BTW) and played them like they would play say the Bills or the 49er's, for instance, they would have run them off the field. The Jags seem to be a good up and coming young team, have a good coach, and had a heck of a win last week, but that's as far as it goes. The Chargers are known for folding and losing big leads, we know this better than anyone. Even though it was a little surprising how bad they choked, it honestly really wasn't all that surprising. The Jags were the beneficiaries of another 'Chargering' moment. Many teams over the years have benefitted from those. Barring unexpected injuries to the Chiefs or a 3 to 4 turnover game (without the Jags turning it over themselves), the Jags have ZERO chance against the Chiefs this Saturday. Don't believe me? Go back and watch the earlier game start to finish. You'll never see a more effortless win where it looked like they were in complete control and never threatened at all. The Jags are just NOT a good matchup for the Chiefs. So unless they completely re-invent their defense with some new scheme for this game that befuddles us (Grandpa Bob, lol), this game won't even be close. Take the over AND the points for the Chiefs. You won't regret it. |

Are you planning to make it out for both games or just this weekend? |

If they want to win it, they need a 3rd presence to put them over the hump and I think that will have to be Zay Jones. If all they can do is get the ball to Etienne and Kirk, that's a 17 point performance. If they want to get into the 28-31 range, they're gonna need Zay to have a big game as well. |

I do have to fluff our MODs a little, every board I've gone to knows ChiefsPlanet and we consistently rank as Toxic. So maybe they are doing something right.

The only moderate success the Jags had in pass D was when they went man, but the Chiefs WR options were more limited in that game than they will be now. The main "switch" the Jags would have to flip is being able to create more chaos with their pass rush, but barring an injury I don't see much reason to believe in that happening. |

The Division game being on a Saturday was our deciding factor this weekend. Work travel on Mondays may not make the Championship game doable but we may be able to get creative with it. |
I'm talking Cosmo and BP fighting non-stop. Detox and Myself starting fights between other posters. Just pure chaos... ONE DAY A YEAR.

The idea that there are sunshine and lollipop boards where everyone is nice to each other is a foreign - and frankly lame as hell - concept to me. If we can't tell each other to go fist a collie and advise opposing fans to die in an AIDS fire, what are we even doing here? |

I really believe we need to setup a Trust fund for CP to keep it going forever. Because every other teams forums are ****ing garbage. |

Keeping the politics strictly off this board. It might get snarky and we've got a lexicon built up that is offensive to the uninitiated. But booting the poitics to a separate sub-forum lets it work. |

If we bring back Hootie, we have to give him 12 hours notice so he can get his drinking and cocaine binge started. Then he can come in full tilt and go nuclear

Need to make sure Janko doesn’t fumble this game.

The Chiefs bring their A game, the Jags have no shot. 2-3 turnovers, special teams mistakes, multiple penalties on 3rd downs and the Chiefs lose. |
This year I really don’t hate any of the AFC teams left if the Chiefs can’t win it all I will root for whichever one is left

In his 63-game career, Shawn Hochuli is a notoriously smart bet when betting on the Under. 35-26-2 to UNDER (57%) for his career 11-6 UNDER record (65%) in the 2021 NFL season 17-6-1 UNDER (74%) in divisional match-ups for his career 5-2 UNDER (73%) in divisional match-ups in 2021 Some might argue that Hochuli likes to be the center of attention at times, as was evident when Hochuli officiated the 2021 Thanksgiving debacle (Raiders vs Cowboys) with a combined 28 penalties for 276 yards |

Of the other remaining teams, I guess if Jacksonville somehow manages to beat us I'd root for them (certainly against Buffalo or Cincy). Will obviously root for Cincy against Buffalo, but no one else. Will root for anybody playing against Buffalo. **** those weasel bitches. When it comes to the NFC, obviously hate Dallas because they're Dallas, and don't give a crap about Philly or New York. Would sort of root for SF, but they have too much Donx stink on them with Shanarat Jr. and Oscar Jr. |

The ending was so worth it. |
Wouldn't hate it if Philly won, despite the fans. Honestly cannot understand people hating the Bills more than Cincy. When we beat them most people recognised their fans were kinda goofy but took it fairly well, and Allen and the team seemed decent. They're making a big deal about Hamlin, so they should, we'd do the same. When I've peeked into their forums it's lots of morons but also plenty of pretty reasonable takes. Nothing wild.
The Bengals on the other hand keep beating us and keep talking about it. Eli Apple mouthing off, Burrow and his smug cigar he can stick up his @rse. They have a s**t one dimensional offence that is 90% miracle balls thrown up to the second coming of Randy Moss. They're a cheap little team in a city that doesn't even like football. Their fans were completely anonymous until about 10 minutes ago, it's not because they're classy, it's because they have no interest. F**k them, I hope they get annihilated by the Bills. Hate the Cowboys obviously, have a weird hatred for the Niners despite quite liking them before Shanahan. Giants, whatever. |

I swear...was getting ready for work this morning and I heard an interview with Trevor Lawrence where they asked him about the noise at Arrowhead and he said it wasn't a big thing...that the crowd last Saturday at TIAA Bank Field was just as loud as Arrowhead would be.
Seriously? Has he forgotten we have been established as the loudest stadium? Sounds like a challenge to the crowd at Arrowhead. |
