Berry can take out the opposing TE and we still have All-Pro coverage deep.
You have to make this trade. |
That's A LOT of money to have tied up in a safeties.....
No way the chiefs give up a 1....honestly I don't see how they give up a 2 for a disgruntled player near 30 on the last year of his contract. If Berry doesn't get his ass on the field soon, it will be time to let him go after this season. |

Can we afford to keep Berry, Thomas, Houston, Watkins, and eventually Hill and Mahomes? PM II and Tyreek are going to get monster contracts.

If we trade for him without a new contract he's disgruntled here. Any trade involving serious draft picks needs a new deal worked out beforehand.

I don't hate the idea of him being here to be clear.
I just don't see how they can afford him with Berry on the roster. No way they should give up a first and I wouldn't be pumped if it was a 2nd. To work, it would have to a similar to Chicago and Mack, a deal has to be in place on day 1. |
I wouldn’t trade a 1st. It’d be different if you didn’t have to extend him, but you do.

Agreed. I'm liking Watkins right now, but he is just benefiting from Tyreek Hills reputation. Teams are game planning against Hill and Watkins is getting open. Albert ****ing Wilson and Robinson get "NFL open" enough for Mahomes to make JAGs look like great WR's. Watkins is replaceable because Elite QB's read the defense pre-snap and find the open guy... whether he runs a 4.3 or is a slow ass fullback running down the sideline. On a side note, I bet Dez Bryant would sign right now for cheap. |
I am guessing Earl Thomas in his 30’s will be more of an impact player than the 2017-2019 draft picks on defense in their prime during this same time period. Chiefs secondary is such a mess. At least you know what you get with Earl. No telling if any of the 2017-2019 picks will turn out worth a crap.

So they can afford to pay a little extra elsewhere. |
