it's his team preference but I get what you are saying

Berry can take out the opposing TE and we still have All-Pro coverage deep.

You have to make this trade.

Iowanian 09-24-2018 04:07 PM

That's A LOT of money to have tied up in a safeties.....

No way the chiefs give up a 1....honestly I don't see how they give up a 2 for a disgruntled player near 30 on the last year of his contract.

If Berry doesn't get his ass on the field soon, it will be time to let him go after this season.

This is what makes me excited! Those two will be able to cover a multitude of sins. It would be absolutely huge!

Can we afford to keep Berry, Thomas, Houston, Watkins, and eventually Hill and Mahomes? PM II and Tyreek are going to get monster contracts.

I don’t see Dallas making up their mind or upping their bid. Atlanta isn’t usually that aggressive but he has history with Quinn. If I’m Veach I’ve got a plan ready for what you give up for him for a rental or if you extend him. I’d be flexible there if that’s the only way he wants to be dealt is if he isn’t tagged after the season. Seriously explore it he just needs to leave the contract drama behind in Seattle and out of KC locker room. So if he wants to extend fine. Be an Un tagged Ufa? Fine. Explore what it takes to get that done but you use the headache he’s causing them distraction wise to your advantage and be flexible. See what happens

Nope, which is why guys like Berry and Houston can take a pay cut or walk.

He's disgruntled for a reason that a new team can instantly rectify. He's disgruntled with the Seahawks, not anybody else.

And Watkins, even though I’m loving him right now, can basically be let go after two seasons. I’m not saying we will or should, but it can happen if we get in a crunch.

If we trade for him without a new contract he's disgruntled here. Any trade involving serious draft picks needs a new deal worked out beforehand.

Iowanian 09-24-2018 04:12 PM

I don't hate the idea of him being here to be clear.

I just don't see how they can afford him with Berry on the roster.

No way they should give up a first and I wouldn't be pumped if it was a 2nd.

To work, it would have to a similar to Chicago and Mack, a deal has to be in place on day 1.

pugsnotdrugs19 09-24-2018 04:14 PM

I wouldn’t trade a 1st. It’d be different if you didn’t have to extend him, but you do.

Agreed.
I'm liking Watkins right now, but he is just benefiting from Tyreek Hills reputation.
Teams are game planning against Hill and Watkins is getting open.

Albert ****ing Wilson and Robinson get "NFL open" enough for Mahomes to make JAGs look like great WR's.

Watkins is replaceable because Elite QB's read the defense pre-snap and find the open guy... whether he runs a 4.3 or is a slow ass fullback running down the sideline.

On a side note, I bet Dez Bryant would sign right now for cheap.

DRM08 09-24-2018 04:15 PM

I am guessing Earl Thomas in his 30’s will be more of an impact player than the 2017-2019 draft picks on defense in their prime during this same time period. Chiefs secondary is such a mess. At least you know what you get with Earl. No telling if any of the 2017-2019 picks will turn out worth a crap.

Well they’re going pretty cheap right now at DL and CB. Also at QB and RB.

So they can afford to pay a little extra elsewhere.
