37 PPG? That’s ridiculous.

So which defenses were the three? I know 2021 Bills was one of them. A lot was mentioned about their defense being #1 that year.

Gone against a lot of highly ranked defenses, not sure which ones were #1 specifically in passing defense:

2019 Niners
2021 Buffalo
2022 Eagles
2023 Ravens
2023 Niners

Chiefs fans need 200 yards rushing in a postseason game before they feel good about our running game.

The running game was good enough it allowed Mahomes to ****ing run for a wide open TD on the game's pivotal offensive play.

They had the SAME number of rushing first downs that Buffalo has.

You're exaggerating as usual. Don't need 200 yards or even 150. Just some good runs here and there to keep the defense guessing. Conversely, we can just air it out with short passes, screens, and slants like against Buffalo, mixed in with the occasional run. But running between the tackles hasn't been great since mid season as a way to move the ball. And it's not something Andy will ever love which is understandable when you have Mahomes. They do it once in a while but it often creates 2nd and long when done on first down.

That's....what we've been doing.

They're averaging over 4 YPC in the postseason.

Ohhhhhh, OK, thank you for clarifying. Idk what’s up with my eyes and these graphics lately but I totally glossed over #1 PASS DEFENSE. I read it as #1 defense.

I will check and see..

EDIT: Yep, the three were 2019 49ers, 2021 Bills and 2022 Eagles. 31, 42, and 38 points scored respectively.

Most posters here predicted us to have our way with the 49ers defense last season. I don't remember them being ranked 1st. Baltimore I do remember being ranked 1st.

We only scored 22 points, but would have had more if Pacheco didn't fumble on the 9 yard line...

Starting to get nerves already. This will be the most nervous I’ll be for a Chiefs game in a few years.

Not because of the Eagles. It’s all about what this game represents. It’s a legacy breaker. Nobody has ever done this.

Being the best team ever is a height no other team can match. And it will push Mahomes up the board past Montana no question.

It would quite literally just be him and Brady.

Work has been nuts and I have not been able to really dig into news analysis or hot takes in the lead up to this game.

How are people around here feeling generally?

I think we have a coaching advantage...this is not the Rams or Commanders I think they are a really talented team who won't quite be ready for us.

I've been calmer than usual tbh although no doubt that changes on gameday. But for now i'm just taking it all in and let the chips fall where they may on Sunday. My belief in the team is high.

I was more nervous for last year's game. And the prior year's game against the Eagles. We already have a legit dynasty. 3 SBs in 5 years. Winning this game would make a special history but it's just padding what they've already accomplished. And yes, maybe that will change during gameday.

The last time this team lost a playoff game, we had one SB victory under our belts, plus a beating the prior year against Tampa. They've won two since. That should soften disappointment after our next loss, whenever it comes.

I've got that weird calm again.

I think they've got a talented team and it'll show, but the coaching and QB advantage is something thats hard to quantify into words. And it's not like we're scrubs either. It's just the difference between a Howie Roseman production of amazing talent vs a disciplined, battle hardened squad that's been in this spot before.

It boils down to leadership, which matters more than anything in a game of this magnitude. The Chiefs have a distinct advantage there.
