Ovechkin makes his presence known in one way or another every game. He has such a multi-faceted game, and opposing teams have to focus on him whenever he steps on the ice. Crosby isn't anywhere near as good as that, and anyone who watched both games today would have seen that.

On MSNC right now: Canadians on the street dont seem too upset about it. Looks like they all just want to get drunk.

I'm not too upset. It was always going to come down to winning 3-4 straight elimination games for Canada, which will obviously be tough to do. These international hockey tournaments are just as crazy as March Madness.

I'm canadian and I'm livid with the performance of our entire team. With a FEW exceptions this team has collectively choked. From alpine skiing to both skating disciplines to the sliding sports its been an embarrassment! If losers with Canada clothing on want to go downtown and get drunk and stagger around singing our anthem good for them but this teams medal count will be WAY under expectations.We are a DNF joke and I'm pissed. Congrats to the USA for a tremendous effort-you should be proud. Me? I'm ashamed and its probably gonna get worse.

OK, so if I'm reading all the tiebreaker stuff right, a 60-minute win by Finland tonight puts them in the 1st seed position. Anything else (overtime win or Sweden win) puts the U.S. in First.

So GO FOPPA (and the rest of the Swedes) tonight.

Why do you care so much about the medal count of athletes that you will stop giving a shit about in 2 weeks?

I've never understood why people care. It's not you that's done the work to get there.

I care because all these athletes went to our federal gov't and asked for outrageous sums of $ and justified it by saying the games are in our backyard and we need extra funding so we can "Own The Podium". They got the extra funding and its been a complete and utter disaster. What a waste of money. That's why I care.
