Blake Harris is an abomination. Not a single positive about him.

He can't even dribble with the ball 5 feet before he loses control, every single time he brings it up. He would still show flashes of greatness from time to time regardless of how bad he is struggling, he hasn't shown me a thing.

Harris is the best PG on the team and it isn't particularly close. He has good handles, good vision and outstanding quickness. He's a solid passer and is generally smart with the ball.

But he gets sped up. Shit happens with freshman guards. He plays at one speed and oftentimes that's just too fast and too careless. As he matures he'll get better on the scoring side (that teardrop he shows sometimes will get more consistent and he'll get better at finishing around the rim) and the game won't be nearly as fast to him.

He's gonna be a very good player as early as next year. By his JR and SR years, he'll be in the conversation for the best PG in the conference. There's a LOT to like about Harris, IMO.

Great post.

Martin needs to lengthen the leash on Harris, especially against teams that pressure. Geist and Phillips very clearly can't handle it.

Against teams that don't pressure as much, you could shorten the leash as a teaching mechanism if you wanted.

Right - he needs to let Harris deal with the pressure teams. There's a good chance that he's already the best equipped to deal with them and he's the only person on the roster with a chance to be truly good at it.

Geist is a useful role player with weaknesses that Martin needs to protect against. That most obvious weakness is the press - he's staggeringly bad at it. So stop asking him to beat it. This is the best version of Geist we'll ever get and it's fine - he's a decent enough player (a basketball Albert Wilson) he's just not a particularly good one.

Phillips...man I hate it but he's just not good enough.

Is this the same woman who did the play-by-play for the Chiefs on Sunday?

If there were ever a time for a Grayson Allen trip I fully support one on Silva.
