Once the first kid from that high school was ruled ineligible I became pretty much 90% pessimistic about this situation.

Self said something today about being "confident" but who knows the context in which that was said. I'm sure he doesn't want to talk about it either way until he knows something.

He is a huge impact player. He takes KU from a top 10 team to a top 3.

if we dont get diallo, this will likely be another early exit from the tournament.

Damn. Didn't hear about the 1st kid being ruled ineligible from that HS yet. That is a little crushing. Either way, with the way Hunter played in the WUG's I have more confident that we will have a rim protector on the floor either way. Still wish we could have used him more last year, and he has seemed to make strides. I doubt 25 minutes of Hunter > Than Diallo, but the drop off might not be as big as we think. I still think we are a Top 5 team with or without Diallo. Diallo just gives us the opportunity to be the best team in college bball next year IMO

KU is still working overtime on this one. They got the prelim report back sometime Friday explaining the findings (and why they're havent cleared him just yet). The findings are both funny, and sad. PM if you want to know what was on it.

Working on Plan B to get him eligible. That's basically another way of saying, under appeal. (A soft ruling but being appealed for all intents)

@GaryBedore: KU coach Bill Self received a letter from NCAA Wednesday that gives Cheick Diallo the OK to practice. So Diallo did practice Wed.

@GaryBedore: Self is confident he will hear final decision on Diallo definitely by the first game of the season, hopefully in two weeks.
