He was 40th in pass blocking (grade improving over prior seasons), just ahead of OBJ at 31.

Perfect tackle for our system then if hes in the 15M to 18M range. How good he is at run blocking barely matters.

OBJ will be back

Players hate getting tagged twice, it almost always gets ugly. I suspect the Chiefs just didn't want to deal with that and then be in the same spot next year.

I've been telling you guys for a year now that if Veach wasn't going to let Hill hold him over a barrel, who actually WAS elite, he wasn't going to let Brown hold him hostage.

Does anyone who pays attention to college football have an opinion on Anton Harrison? Seems like the most likely LT prospect for us at the bottom of the 1st.

No one who is the worst in the league at run blocking is the ‘perfect’ tackle for our system. A better option than Brown at that price? That’s a debatable ‘’maybe’ that’s left to Veach. But this guy is hardly perfect.

Even if they like someone in the draft, unless they're gonna trade up for him....I dunno.

The Chiefs are in this position in the first place because OBJ wants to be the highest-paid LT in football.

Tunsil is not coming here.

One thing about Jawaan Taylor is that he's a much better pass blocker than a run blocker.

He's like the completely opposite of Brown, which makes him a better fit.

Correct.

He's Tunsil light.

And if he costs 70% as much against the cap while also not costing us a 1st rounder to acquire, it's a worthwhile gamble.

While I agree with this, there is also a difference between trading Hill and replacing him with multiple JAGS and letting Brown walk and trying to replace him. I trust Veach so I am not concerned. Just wanted to highlight how their situations are different.

Also a sign they really could not tag and trade him for anything greater then a 3rd round comp pick as well.

If they thought he was worth it though, they'd sign him to that deal.

Tunsil woudl be.

Exactly.

Taylor at an AAV of $18M isn't any cheaper than OBJ when you look at performance vs. value.

He isn't THAT good.

He could have been had for anything over league minimum last off season. And he just gave up 9 sacks this season. Maybe 7-8. But no where near 15

They could still sign him, you know.

Surprised they didnt go that route. Dont know how you couldn't get a 3rd for him. Either way very happy about this as long as they use the funds on WR and EDGE
