Aikman was a good QB on a great team, he wasn't the best QB of his era or really even close.

milano will play and prob wont even look injured unless he aggravates it during the game

benford being out forbthem would be tough though

Hammock Parties 01-22-2025 11:45 AM

If you don't think Milano can't aggravate a hamstring during a game, you ain't watched Matt Milano.

If he's not 100% this could be huge for Mahomes rushing and Kelce over the middle.

#AFCChampionship Injury Watch:

(1) Taron Johnson (BUF, CB) - Video suggests partial shoulder dislocation. Likely playing w/o major dip, but re-injury risk = high

(2) Taylor Rapp (BUF, S) - High risk of sitting. Hip injury. Video suggests sprain +/- labrum. Suspect he attempts to play w/injection. Practice reports will give clarity

(3) Christian Benford (BUF, CB) - Concussion. Possible to clear, but most players would miss 1 game

(4) Matt Milano (BUF, LB) - Missed part of last drive. Reportedly hamstring. Lean towards playing but practice reports = key

I don't think we'll play the style of defense everyone else has used against Allen. I think we'll be more aggressive.

It's time to come home with your shield or on it -- Spags isn't going to go down watching Allen smile and dial for 5 seconds every time he drops back. He's going to bring heat. And we're going to go out there with more man coverages that force the WRs to win their individual matchups.

And then we're going to hope the LBs are able to keep Allen from having a field day when he sees the DBs backs are turned and tries to get upfield. And maybe force a fumble in there.

I expect Spags is going to make Allen execute. He's going to give him chances by playing a more aggressive style, but he's going to make Allen prove he can get the job done with them. Repeatedly.

We'll give up some big plays to Allen on the ground, IMO. But we're going to make him keep proving that he can do it. I don't expect us to just let him dissect us with a contain rush like we did last time.

Because lets not forget that despite all that, we were literally 3 inches away from Karlaftis forcing a game altering fumble. And that's when we rarely dialed anything up.

Do it often and we'll get to him a time or two. And that may be all it takes.

At this point I’ve given up assuming we’ll come out with anything that can stop Allen. That dude hasn’t had what I’d consider a bad game against us since 2020. And that’s basically a lifetime ago by NFL standards.

I brought it up because I was talking in terms of production. Worthy's ceiling jsut this year was clearly 1,000 yards and 10 TDs with all the missed opportunities. Coleman overachieved in terms of production. I don't see that guy ever having 1,000 yards and Worthy should've legit been 1,000 yard guy this year. That's the point.

Yeah, I know how your homer brain works. You’re mentally calculating the Mahomes overthrows and missed reads for Worthy and not doing the same for Coleman.

The fact that Benford is limited is actually a positive for them if anything.

Wait, are you honestly trying to say that Coleman and Allen have anywhere near the missed wide open opportunities that Worthy and Mahomes had? Allen has been as bad as Mahomes with the deep ball this year? News to me! Must be an entire highlight reel of near misses out there then. Let's see it!

Even if Allen misses Coleman deep, he's not running wide open like Worthy. You understand that, right? Coleman "wins" deep, it's still usually a 50/50 ball. If Worthy wins deep, it's typically not contested barring a bad throw.

Early week injury designations mean nothing.

And for what it's worth, I'd rather Buffalo be full strength. I want no excuses when we beat them.

Like I said, this will be the second week in a row that a player passes protocol for them in less than a week. How convenient!

Who knows? Coleman may well be a great player going forward, but that doesn’t matter for this week.

He clearly has been held in check for a few months now. Maybe an injury? Maybe tape?

Whatever it is, plenty of teams have made him a nonfactor recently.

Sure, that could easily be the case. I never even suggested any different, just that his addition is a big change compared to the last time we played.

This was the post I originally made that dipshit Staylor took offense to:

So it’s basically like us getting back Jawaan Taylor, Noah Gray, Xavier Worthy, and Nick Bolton for them.

While we actually get back Hollywood, Jaylen Watson and Pacheco.

Those are some big movers and shakers on each side. I wouldn’t be surprised if this game looks completely different than the one earlier this year.

Anyone with a brain can see the parallels there.

They get back their starting RT. What would that look like for KC? Getting back Taylor.

They get back their starting MLB. Would be like us getting back Bolton.

They get back their backup TE. By golly, that’s kind like us getting Gray back from injury.

They get back their rookie WR who is coincidentally their second-leading receiver? Hmm. Wonder what’s the closest analog for KC…

Dude’s just an insecure weirdo who thought I was comparing their talent or something. He’s confused. I think he has low T.

Especially come playoff time.

If someone is a DNP on Friday, that MIGHT matter. Probably still won't.

I'll assume every last one of them is going to play on Sunday.

I've seen at least 2 and I believe I recall 3 absolutely perfect pancake blocks (yours being one of them) flagged as holds against him. And a couple of those false start/illegal formation penalties called on him that just flat weren't.

I'll forever hate Collinsworth for this bullshit. It's ENTIRELY on him. And if/when they start letting people take liberties with Mahomes because Aikman is a ****ing ****, he'll be buried just as deeply on my shit list.

These broadcasters whining about the game are just so bad for the sport. I don't understand how the NFL hasn't laid into the networks for it.

lmao this isn't super relevant, but remember when the Chiefs called Snow Globe against the Raiders and Humphrey so utterly devastated his linebacker that the refs threw a flag.

It was like the scene from Semi-Pro where the ref had no idea what a dunk was so he just called it a foul.

The play, because Creed Humphrey is a national treasure:

Exactly.

IIRC, Mixon's status was downgraded twice last week, finishing with a DNP.

Then dude proceeded to run all over us.
