Andy isn't BB, I doubt PH is going to enjoy decades of O-lines that'll keep in safe in the pocket and keep him healthy. Pat doesn't scramble for his life because he hates the protective pocket that's working, he scrambles because somebody is getting beat or got beat.

So Andy better pull out all the stops for next year, mortgage the farm and sell the tractor, I simply don't think we can count on Pat being 2018/19-season Pat for 10 years.

This post makes sense if you completely discount any aspects of growth and maturity.

I discount Andy and Clark (Veach is a patsy) making the harder-right decisions if it means upsetting people they've friended. They only do that when the fans force their hand and make the harder-right much less hard than what was the easier-wrong. They simple can't be Kraft and BB "like" when that's exactly what they need to be more like.

So we can draft talent, or pickup previously not-bad talent (especially on D), and with their overall mentality turn them into the 31st worst D in the league. But we're going to need a Willie Roaf-era OL to keep PH off a stretcher. And hell, even the Roaf-era OL didn't keep the pretty-much pure pocket QB off the medical stretcher.

I'm just saying that PH's life span might not be that of Tom-Terrific based on how many times he has to bail out of the pocket. Granted, he's a master, second to none, when he's out there, but the law of averages aren't in his favor in terms of a 20 year career because of how much he bails (willingly or otherwise).

Didn’t the Pats still have 3 timeouts left? So even after the Ford screw up the Chiefs would have still needed a first down to ice the game. Andy would have ran it 3 times and Brady would have gotten the ball back with around 1 minute and no timeouts. That’s still plenty of time for this D to screw up.
