Some of you guys are so ridiculous. Good luck getting either of these (at normal cost) for the holidays. You wont find either sitting on a shelf at a store. That is just asinine.

Just get both like we had to last gen. Neither one is going to be discontinued like the HD-DVD so why does it matter anyway. Get what you want and stop being anus corn.

ann arbor michigan. meijers is a large store like walmart. has 3 ****ing black launch day boxes on their shelf right now. is it that hard for you to understand that not all regions have the same demands for a product? you can look around online new york also has tons of xbox in stock. they will sell them out sooner or later. they will prolly sell them out before christmas. don't let your personal like or dislike of a product cloud your view. most stores don't even know there own stock calling around town shops saying they don't have any consoles in stock but if you go there you find them sitting on the shelf. goto ign or another gaming site you will be shocked to learn there is stock in different parts of the country .some have stock of both units. some only have ps4 some have xbox. they might be both out of stock where you are but that doesn't mean they are everywhere. look at the ebay sales, they are not even selling because there is stock at many city's

If you want to just throw citys and store names out and say they have Xbox Launch Units then that's fine, but I'll wait for the link proving it if you don't mind. The fact is that PS4 made the decision to launch this way by doing one region per week US UK then China and other smaller areas. If you make a marketing decision and leave little to no stock before Christmas then you just blew your load at the beginning and didn't forecast properly. I've seen three seperate stories of Xbox One being replenished at major retailers in the US. I have yet to see one single article that says, "PS4 back in stock at Amazon." PS4 chose to go big right off the bat to get the best looking numbers right off the bat, don't be surprised if XBox gains ground over the next few weeks because of that decision.

Where do you guys live that you are seeing so many Xbox Ones just sitting on the shelves collecting dust? You can't even order one online from Gamestop, Target, Wal-Mart, Amazon, etc, etc, etc. You'd think they could just grab one off the shelf, dust it off, put it in a box and ship it to you.

The demand is there for both consoles. It wouldn't surprise me to hear that the PS4 is outselling the One though. But, what it boils down to is that you haven't seen Xbox One consoles "sitting on the shelves collecting dust" and there are certainly no places with "Launch Day" Xbox Ones - you guys are full of shit.

One Wal-Mart here in town had 6 Xbox's sitting on the shelf the Monday following Black Friday. That is, in launch terms, a lot of consoles sitting for 3.5 days.

If you think a guy at the local Wal-Mart is going to fulfill online orders, you must not have a firm grasp on how things work.

Man, I don't care what you THINK you saw at whatever store you were at. There are zero launch day consoles left at any store anywhere. There are zero consoles period left in any store, you're kidding yourself if you believe otherwise. Outside of someone trying to sell one on ebay for twice the cost, nobody is going to get a PS4 or a Xbox One before Christmas. I don't think PS4 is expecting it's next major shipment of them until mid to late January - which wouldn't surprise me if Xbox was the exact same way.

As far as my personal preference, I don't have one. I'll buy whichever one I want most first, then I'll buy the other one. I'm not even wasting my time looking at them until next year sometime.

So, answer me this....if there is so much stock of Xbox One consoles that they are just sitting in all these stores collecting dust, why can't you order one from any of the major stores?

You're full of shit and you know it. You can't order a console online, but hey, you can just walk into the store and grab one. LMAO

Ever heard of ordering online, picking up in store?

In a store, you have to call constantly, or go and see for yourself. Gamestop, Wal-Mart, and Target's websites being sold out of online stock in no way means they aren't in stock in a random store in Fargo. Again, Joe electronics at the local Wal-Mart will not be packaging and mailing out your online purchase. The console on the shelf will stay on the shelf until it's bought.

Now, just b/c a Wal-Mart in my area had 6 consoles survive Thanksgiving night, Black Friday and the following 2.5-3 days doesn't mean the consoles are still there, but it does mean that the demand may not be all its made out to be.

What? The PS4 launched solely in the US and Canada initially and Xbox launched day one to 13-14 countries. Who's attempting to make numbers "look" good?

Damn, these system sold more in one day than the Wii U did in 9 months. Nintendo is screwed. I hope they dont go away though...

most major stores tell you to check local stock because they do not know how much each store has left. they are not holding extra stock at the warehouse they are just shipping to stores as soon as they get any in it is ignorant at best to assume you know the stock of all stores. sitting there telling us what you assume and passing it off as factual. just look at game related web sites the people who are actively tracking and looking for the consoles. you will see many places have consoles in stock 1 brand or the other or maybe even both. if you wish to just assume that no place has them thats on you but with just a lil googling you can see there is stock around at some places

as for the next shipments i have no clue. everyone i asked at the stores they said they don't know they just get sent units at random pretty much. i don't think we will have any clue on how well these systems are doing till march or so. i guessing it will take that long for there to be regular stock everywhere

This is misinformed. You sound like a guy giving his best option of what he THINKS is going to happen, or is happening, and not paying attention to the news of what is actually happening. Have you even been reading my posts?

PS4 is producing ONE MILLION consoles every month. Of those consoles, 55% will come to the US, b/c as someone said earlier North America is what matters. Production started in September, takes about 3 weeks to get a console on shelves. There will be stray waves of consoles hitting shelves.

Both PS4 and Xbox are expected to be available in limited quantity at best Buy this Sunday.

If Gamestop is getting about half of the consoles sent to North America, it would make sense that if Best Buy gets a shipment, Gamestop likely would too.

You believing a product available on a shelf in a store is available to anyone online is still hilarious.

A little googling shows that there is no place to get one. Show me I'm wrong and I'll retract.

Look good in America. Selling 2.1 Million units means they used all 2.1 Million of their units so far, I have yet to see a restocking through any major gaming site (Kotaku, IGN, Gamespot, Polygon etc) or retailer for that matter.
