at least Sean Smith is coming from an average to good defense where he was the #1 CB asking to be the #2 here like he was when Vontae Davis was with him.

Dunta Robinson started the #1 guy in Atlanta when he signed, then got beat out by Grimes for that spot, downgraded to #2, then still needing help, traded for Asante and Dunta was moved to #3 being payed like a #1. And then an injury in week 1 forced him back in starters snaps and he got torched all season.

Nothing close to that happened to Sean Smith.

I really wasn't impressed with Trufant when I watched him at the senior bowl. Alford was pretty blah too. I think the Falcons miss the playoffs this year. They lost too much o-line, too many CBs, and they have no pass rush. Alford/Trufant are going to get torched this Sunday.

They had to make money to pay Ryan. They also paid Gonzo something like $8 million for one year if I remember right. They drafted for need. They drafted out of desperation imo. They hope one of those guys will work.
