Here's one my wife would like. She has to have the carry handle sight. That's all she wants on it.

Id say buy it. then get this scope for the carry handle

GEZZZ-La-wezz! I feel almost naked with my plain Jane AR after looking at all the option http://www.gunaccessories.com/Milita...AR15/index.asp

Does the scope on top of the handle not look goofy or am I just being negative?

We can get $100 off a m&p 15 but it takes 8-12 weeks for it and they are still more expensive than the DPMS brand.

LiveSteam 07-17-2011 02:51 PM

That is the original scope made by Colt for the Colt M-16
I would buy the DPMS with 100% confidence.
I know nothing about m&p.
I have shot both my cuzz,& my neighbors DPMS. Plus watched both of them run thousands of rounds threw them. They are good rifles. both rifles will shoot steel. Neither my colt or bushmaster will shoot steal cased ammo.

Dunit35 07-17-2011 02:56 PM

Yeah, I'm pretty certain his isn't the Colt scope.

I think we want something newer especially one with the elevation/wind adjustment. She'll probably want the DPMS I linked earlier today

Frazod knows more than I about DPMS
He built his platform from the ground up I beleive

It's a good rifle. I've been told by my FFL guy, who is a retired cop and range master, that lots of cops buy them as personal weapons, and he spoke very highly of the brand. Obviously I've done quite a bit of tinkering to mine (stock, quad rail, trigger, grip, compensator), but outside of the quad, I wouldn't say any of them were essential. Good weapon, and the price has dropped considerably since I got mine last year.

DPMS it is. Zombie time.

The only catch to this is: she said the majority of the rifle she's paying for IF I don't bother her about BJ's anymore and I only get two a year now instead of once a month. After debating all day, I took her up on the offer.

Dunit35 07-17-2011 05:23 PM

The scope is a Mark III scope on that colt.

I would NOT have made that deal.

And you'd better hope she doesn't read this, otherwise that two a year might end up just being your birthday. :D

Haha. She doesn't like to do it anyways. I dated a girl for two years that never gave them so it doesn't bother me a bit.

That's kind of the point....you had it all man! I agree with frazod, no way I would have made that deal.

Proof that a major heat wave and exposure to the sun can make a person go insane.

I found two carry handles for AR-15's.

http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/p...ducts_id/59895

http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/p...ducts_id/58601

Maybe it would save me a hundo or so?

Could go with this?

http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/p...s_id/411537958

or this?

http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/p...ducts_id/61617

Can't tell if this one has a rail on the upper for the carry handle?
