Daboll is a NE graft for the tree for the special Patriot Way fruit

Haley worked with Pioli before, just not in New England. He was 100% "from the tree".

Htis, you think we should let people that are under contract here interview elsewhere for the same spot?

What logic is behind letting Zorn go to Chicago to be the QB coach when he is under contract to do that here?

They don't equal the skill players the Chiefs have though and even bringing back Orton would give KC the edge at QB. Hell, I don't think Moore's better than Cassel.

I would be happy if he did, but I dont see him signing a guy that can beat out his goon QB.

"it takes two to tango" will be the excuse.

I really hope these guys straighten up this ship because I cant stand much more of this crap.

Yep. He's already greased those skids...he's already said it takes two sides to negotiate. When Orton doesn't sign here, it will be blamed on Orton.

No, from the tree has never meant, anyone Pioli has worked with at some point in the past. From the tree means from the Patriot tree, otherwise it makes no sense as a phrase.

When you have a MAJOR problem with your fans and a huge perception problem in NFL circles, you should probably think about the way you are behaving.

I have no problem with them preventing Zorn from interviewing with Chicago if they had intention of KEEPING him. It's starting to look like they're going to have him walk and while they're saying they wish him well, when in reality they're letting him go knowing they prevented him from an ideal chance to find employment elsewhere.

The tree starts with Parcells.

I disagree, I would take Moore over Orton in a heart beat and Bush is playing some ball, Marshall is a very solid WR. IMO the talent on offense between the two teams is a wash.

That's a very big tree.

Okie_Apparition 02-08-2012 04:57 PM

The Patriot Way & The Tree I must be making into one
Straying from the Patriot Way for HC & coordinators has burned Pioli

BossChief 02-08-2012 04:59 PM

I really want to have a positive attitude about the Chiefs and I dont think its out of the realm of possibility this thing gets turned around...but for ****s sake, if you are gonna leak information to try and generate a buzz about the team like "we are looking outside the tree for coaches to interview for our OC position" and "we are gonna be aggressive in bringing in competition for Matt Cassel"...

..well....

you better damn well not come out and tell us you really never had intentions of doing those things.

that comment by Crennel should get its own thread.

Sacked 36 times, sub 200 yards a game, fumbled 14, turned it over 15 times in 13 games of work. Uhhh, no he isn't better than Orton. They would be a dangerous team as well with a real QB.

Bush isn't in Charles league and while Marshall is awesome, they don't have Baldwin, Breaston, and Moeaki to supplement him.

That would be correct.

The Patriot Way and the "tree" aren't completely the same, although there's significant overlap.

Or you could separate the Billcheck tree from the Parcells tree and look at it that way.

The simple fact is that Haley wasn't completely outside of Pioli's "circle".

Okie_Apparition 02-08-2012 05:03 PM

The fact he doesn't want to be his own man away from all things Belichick is rather...weak

He is young and showing signs of being a very solid QB, he improved as the year progressed, everyone has seen enough of Orton to see he is as good as he will ever be. Charles was better but, rather returns to the same level is yet to be seen. This is not smack I am just saying there is more talent in Miami then most think.
