Mr. Rainman, I have traded the Milwaukee Mud Ducks 9th round pick for Bdeg's First Round Rookie Pick. Thanks

Damn, Sims and Greenway were right at the top of my board, but the fact that they were both there kept me from taking one.

Ok, you fans of sports... ready for some trade insanity?

Quick background on what I have currently.

I have an 8 man roster through 8 rounds, an additional R9 pick... no R10 pick and no Rookie R1 pick. But I have all of my veteran picks in R11-33 with Rookie R2-7 picks.

Trade #1 - with Cobras

MML gives up QB, Matt Cassell and our R11 veteran pick

Cobras give up QB, Trent Edwards, Cobras R10 and the R18 pick acquired from Fort Wayne Dancers.

Trade #2 - with Cleveland Steamers

Steamers give up R10, R12 and R25

MML gives up their entire rookie draft, picks 2-7

Crazy? Crazy ... am I? Well, maybe so...

I maintain 8 players through 8 rounds, flipping Cassell for Edwards and with no rookie picks, I have the following remaining picks.

R9: 2 picks (mine and Tuscons)
R10: 2 picks (Cobras and Steamers)
R11: 0
R12: 2 picks (mine and Steamers)
R13: 2 picks (mine and Tuscons)
R14-17: one pick each = 4 picks
R18: 2 picks (mine and FW Dancers)
R19-24: one pick each = 6 picks
R25: 2 picks (mine and Steamers)
R26-33: one pick each = 8 picks

Total of 30 picks in the final 25 rounds of the veteran draft.

This will give me 38 players and from what I can tell, there is no problem with that number, but if there is... Rainman, let me know because that likely voids these trades....

So, yeah... don't know if this is the wise thing to do, but there's a lot of great veterans (young ones too) out there in the next few rounds. I'll take my shot with them compared to the rookies.

4 picks in the next 2 rounds & 8 picks in the next 5... 16 players in the first 13 rounds, I can dig that kinda foundation.

Mile High Mania 06-04-2009 10:51 AM

EDITED...

I removed this, figured out my confusion... Tuscon had 2 R9 picks... carry on...

I have picks #10 (original Tuscon pick) and #12 in Round 9.

That pick is valid, he traded me your rookie 1.

Mile High Mania 06-04-2009 11:01 AM

Yep... the crazy trades have made my brain mush.

Ok, don't hold back if you guys think I'm delirious for doing what I've done in the last 2 trades. Loading up on veteran picks, avoiding rookies...

16 picks in 13 rounds... 2 each 9, 10, 12, 13, 18, 25

Fairly decent? Dumb as hell? Share openly and be honest...
