The only way it could get worse is if we are up 45-3 in the fourth quarter and we lose. So we have that going for us, I guess.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that we have reached the absolute bottom of the barrel not only in duration of not winning playoff games, but in different ways of losing them, and there is nowhere to go but up from here.

Right?

This topic is still going on over on the 49ers board - and Smith is a year removed. Haters gotta hate.

Haters are correct until he wins at least one playoff game.

A certain fan in Belton's girlfriend washed his lucky game day Chiefs underwear.
I hope he comes to grips that he has to ATM her mother and sister before training camp.

He has won a playoff game. He is 1 for 3 and honestly has played Great in 2 of them and only good in one of them. Look at his playoff stats in 3 games, there isn't anyone on the planet that wouldn't take those numbers for their QB.

It even goes beyond Flowers. The Flowers loss hurts because of the exact reason that you stated. But we lost Avery....which took away any deep thread we had. And I won't even bring up Charles because that one is obvious.

Oh there is plenty of talk about that as well. It's just one or two threads about Smith, but the debate rages on. Reminds me of the Montana/Young debate in some respects. And I'm not saying that Smith or Kapernick are at the Montana Young level - not yet anyway, but the polarization of the debate sounds similar.

It's very possible that Alex Smith is our Steve Young.

Both guys didn't fully "get it" until they were about 28 or 29 and then, things just took off for them.

Interesting analogy.

I don't know if he's going to turn out as good as Young but I do think he's closer to Young then Bono and Grbac
