Glad we didn't get this guy in the Cueto trade last year.

I wouldn't see him as being an issue here in KC. Salvy would just knock his ass out again were he to act up. I say get him.

Sooooo happy Jarrod Dyson to be freed. Just like I always wanted. Of course if he sucks ass I will pretend I never argued for him. (Just kidding)
We were never going to pay for 2 corner OF anyway so this isn't really news. What is: that Dyson is the guy and not Orlando or Eibner/et al. Cain to RF now. |
Why not Eibner?
|
Im sure Orlando will see plenty of time. Even with this news I doubt Dyson start more than a 100 games

Sad to say it, but after reading a baseball insider's article (I'll have to find it again and then I can link it), but I am now leaning toward the reality that Gordo and Zobrist are not going to be back.
Yeah, I'm sure plenty of people already figured as much, but the article mentions a rather different viewpoint for the team's plans in the near future. Essentially, it's not that they can't pony up for both guys, it's deciding that they are banking those dollars to have for the young guys hitting FA in a couple years. I was surprised to hear that the information he got from his sources with the Royals organization is that the front office fully intends on keeping Hosmer, Moose, Cain, and Escobar. Basically, the Royals have a very good relationship with Boras, and anticipated this even before drafting these guys. Other teams had already determined they would pass on Hos and Moose no matter if they were available because they knew the implications of Boras' clients. The Royals were well aware of this, and have been planning accordingly to be able to keep the guys they drafted with high picks should they end up reaching their potential. Who knows, but I do find it interesting that they might have a very different idea of how things work out when a good amount of the younger talent is about to hit Free Agency. . . |

The Royals organization needs to keep the numbers strong until the new contract is in place if they want to get money to keep their payroll in at least the middle 3rd on a yearly basis. |
I think Gordon is coming back. Only two other landing spots for him in Anaheim and maybe St. Louis.
My free agent OF 8 ball: Heyward - St. Louis Upton - Baltimore Cespedes - Anaheim Gordon - Kansas City |
