I lost my building/business at the corner of 26th and Maiden Lane, catty-corner from St John's Hospital. When the Weather channel is reporting from in front of your building, it's not good! We arrived Sunday night to find a Jeep Grand Cherokee upside down in my front parking lot. It's been tagged as coming from St John's Hospital. There was also a 30 foot roll-off trash dumpster that smashed my building and was resting upside down on what was my front door. Have no idea where that came from. The power of this tornado was unbelievable.
My wife also lost her office on 20th Street. It's been a tough week, but we're much better off than a lot of people in Joplin who have lost their homes and/or loved ones.
The pictures and videos don't do justice to the devastation of this tornado. Can't really understand the magnitude of the destruction until you're standing in the middle of it. And I've only seen sections of it. To think that it extends for 6 miles is absolutely amazing.
Can't say enough thanks to all of the emergency staff and volunteers that have rushed to help out. I had volunteers from Wisconsin help me finish salvaging the last of what I could from my office today. People constantly stopping by asking to help, offering free drinks and food. Really amazing and really appreciated!

I hope that the death toll stops rising... My thoughts and prayers are with the people in Joplin.

We were the building across the street to the north of Pronto Pharmacy. My business is Advanced Orthotics and Prosthetics. I've been told by several national guard members that we caused quite a commotion because of the prosthetic limbs that were left in the rubble. Had a search dog team check the debris around my building, but they didn't find anything. Hopefully, all of the missing can be accounted for.

I can tell you first hand that your building did. I was searching houses by there Sunday night. The group I was with and another group kept thinking we found something.

The Joplin Planeteers will be in my thoughts today. Missouri Loves You. God Bless You.

I always wondered who the voice of Missouri was. Now, I know.

the bikers won't make a difference, the chances are pretty high that these assholes may go "bye-bye" today.

I find that to be highly unlikely.

They've protested hundreds and hundreds of funerals in every state in the country. They protested in Alabama after that tornado outbreak. They've protested military funerals in the South, where there's no shortage of "good ol' boys" with guns. Nothing happened there, and nothing's going to happen in Joplin.

People who are prone to be murderers don't care about protestors. And people who are grieving aren't in the mood to be murderers.
