People who are prone to be murderers don't care about protestors. And people who are grieving aren't in the mood to be murderers.

Okay, believe in what you believe but I know the typ of people who live here and in the surrounding areas. They won't put up with this if they see it.

What more do some of these people have to lose? Put yourself in their shoes and tell me you'de stand there with your tail between your legs while they degrade your loved ones you lost in the tornado.

Or, ... they might be thinking, "Sure. I could whoop some ass right now but how much good could I do, sitting in jail, instead of helping out the town in their time of need?"

:hmmm:

I think either Rausch, KC Mizzou or I could serve as "the voice of Missouri" on this board.

As long as you don't root for the Jayhawks, you're in!

You can take that sort of logic and hang in next to all of your Big XXII Championship trophies and ... oh, ... wait, ...... nevermind. :D

Well, currently, such a person is allowed to walk free. If they were violent toward a legal protester, they would be in jail. Depending on the severity of the crime, they could be in jail for the rest of their lives. That's quite a bit to lose, don't you think?

This is secondhand news, but one of the Americorps guys just came in and said that the WBC folks weren't here yet. He told us that they were at a truck stop about 20 miles away. It appears that a group of truckers had surrounded the WBC vehicles with their semis and removed the spark plugs from the trucks. This is hilarious if true! :)

Heh...now THIS type of stuff doesn't surprise me. As I've alluded to, peaceful people don't just suddenly become violent because of some idiot nutjobs. Peaceful people find ways to peacefully diminish the impact of said nutjobs.

In all honesty... If it were a close family member of mine that was killed and people like that showed up to run their mouth, I'd punch them square in the mouth and not think twice about it. No... I wouldn't kill them, but I sure as hell wouldn't stand with my tail between my legs and let them talk shit about a dead family member. A few days in jail wouldn't have no long term effect on my life. But, the satisfaction of ruining one of their days would be more than worth it.

Chances are, if you were there to grieve for a family member, you wouldn't be in the mood to do it. Would you really want to have your last memories of that person being of the day you got thrown in jail and spent the next year of your life dealing with the legal battle?

The "missing" list is down to 40, so that's mildly good news.

I hope this is actually true and not just rumor.

Heh. I'm kinda surprised that more people haven't thought up creative and pretty much benign ways to make these WBC folks hate life when they show up for a protest. I'd almost bet that even if somebody got caught doing something like removing sparkplugs given the circumstances that they would only wind up getting a slap on the wrist if anything.
