Broncos aren't called the Cheyenne Broncos just because they have fans in Wyoming.

Sure, but the city they are a part of doesn't span 2 states either.

Cheyenne is over 100 miles from Denver

It's the neighboring State and Bronco country.

How about leave Arrowhead where it is and build a giant dome that covers the entire complex. Kind of a miniature version of that Mall of the World in Dubai.

What does Frank White hope to gain for Jackson County by doing this? I'd love to understand his thinking or clearly see the upside of this move.

Part of me wonders if Clark would enjoy seeing the original project finally come to fruition. I've always wondered just how loud the stadium would be with that thing sitting over it.

.... and **** Frank White.

I see that and wonder how that thing would hold up with a few inches of ice on it, or a foot+ of snow?

Their justification for refusing to extend the current deal seems to be that Jackson County pays sales tax to maintain the Truman Sports Complex but does not receive direct revenue from the stadiums. They want to be cut in on the profits.

Bring'em both over to the Kansas side. I wouldn't mind shaving an hour off the drive. #selfish :D

BS. The only reason White is being a bitch is he is still pissed that he was never hired to manage the MLB team.

But we do have the East Rutherford New Jersey Giants.

Oh wait, why are they called the New York Giants again?

They don't even play in that state?

This idea had grown on me over the years. There wouldn't be anything else like it in the world. The Arrowhead Experience is great as it is but the ability to host a SB and other events would be huge for the KC Metro area. Being from out of town I wish there were another hotel or two across the street and there seems to be enough space that there could be a small shopping and food/bar area right there as well.

Basically because parking lots are a terrible use of land. You put a stadium downtown where all the stuff is because people come to see a game, which lasts 3 hours, and then do stuff before and after the game, like go to bars or stay at hotels. Those things, unlike parking lots, generate tax revenue which can be used for all sorts of things.

I would miss the old stadium and be nostalgic for it, but having a stadium in an undeveloped area with a parking lot that's like 4x the size of the stadium itself is a huge waste.

of course you can't really put a stadium in a dense urban area without giving people a way to get to and from it, and lol it's not like we're going to build passenger rail or improve the bus network or anything like that. so moving the stadium will likely involve tearing down buildings to build parking which doesn't really solve the problem with arrowhead's current location

This is a horrible idea. I am a long time season ticket holder and would give them up in a heartbeat if I had to fight traffic in a city area, and pay way more to park reasonably close to the stadium on gamedays. Then sit in traffice for an hour while I try to get on the road for my 3 hour drive back. All the season ticket holders around me live an hour or more from the stadium and would feel the same way.

I mean not everyone likes sports so a tax decrease in shitty economic times is something people would like.

Anyone who thinks any of this is about "liking sports" is an absolute moron. The economic impact these teams have on the county is enormous. Jobs, tax revenue, and more options for consumers is far more important than liking sports or not.
