I love how any "Looking for a car" threads turns in to a argument over "domestic" vs "import". Absolutely hilarious how jaded some people are over a brand name.

I can't believe there's still an argument to be made.

To each their own. If people want to spend more money on an inferior product, let them. It does not affect me in the slightest.

You are obviously stuck in the '80's. Chevrolet is making the best vehicles that they have EVER made and J.D. Powers supports this claim.

IF you knew vehicles, you'd know that the term "sludge engine" was created to describe Toyota's that built up a sludge in the engines. Thousands of Toyota's have this problem....regardless of weather you changed the oil or not. Engines blew.....resales dropped. Not saying that Toyota's are bad, just not infallable. Chevy's are just as good for less $$$.

A 22 year old boy was talking about Mitzubishi's. It is obvious to me that he hasn't driven behind a Mitzu dealer ans seen all the crapped out V6's sitting behind their service department. THEY CAN'T PRODUCE V6'S FAST ENOUGH TO REPLACE THE WARRANTEED BLOWN ONES!!!

Honda is world renown for the timing belt going out....which in turn warps the valves....requiring a new engine. Barring that they are known to loose the rack and pinion.

I believe in:

Chevy Equinox
Toyota 4Runner
Nissan Pathfinder
Saturn Vue

BTW...I don't consider the Vibe to be a SUV.

Overall, I like Lexus, Toyota, Chevy, some Ford trucks. I also like Audi.
They all have SOME issues, which isn't bad IF you know what they are.

Thanks for the post.

I do like the Equinox and I currently have a Vue.

The problem with the Vue is a variety of things, which is why I want to get rid of it. I have a 2002, that's held it's resale value very well, but it was the first year they were made and there are tons of bugs.

The cabin is so noisy it's maddening. The car suspension creeks.
My Vue only has 50,000 on it, but since it's worth more now than what I paid, I figure I might as well strike while the iron is hot.

Nissan Xterra is nice, as is the Pathfinder. May be tough to find a good low-mileage one in your price range tho'. Check http://carmax.com I had an Xterra for a while... really liked it, but it was slightly underpowered (170hp). The newer ones have the same engine as the 3.2L Maxima... that sucker puts out ~240hp.

The new Ford Escape hybrid is nice.... and it gets insane gas mileage. Again, may be limited due to budget.

I have an Eddie Bauer now... 5.0L V8. It can MOVE, plus it has plenty of cabin space (good for hauling kids/dog/groceries/supplies/luggage/bikes/etc). You should be able to find a wide variety of Exploder EBs in your price range.

Good luck! :)

It's worth more now than what you paid? Did you find it with the keys in it or something?

There is a car dealership in PA that undersells cars. I paid 11,900 for it and the retail now is over 15.

If you’re driving a new Jag you’re driving a machine manufactured and engineered by Ford, the company you claim sucks.
