Judas Priest. They were accused of having subliminal messages in their tracks.

THAT is what I'm railing against; the blatant double-standard and hypocrisy. THIS is no longer about Imus; it's about the rest of the trash that needs taken out of the public square.

(predictable response) one man's trash is another man's treasure, or some such happy horseshit...

anyhoo, i remember how early rock and roll was considered evil by adults...

and if you watched elvis sing (and swing his hips), you were possessed by some kind of mutant sex demon and ruined for life...

that rock and roll stuff was really immoral and dangerous back in the day...

it would either make you blind or turn you into one of "them" (oh horror of horrors)...

even ed sullivan would not let the cameras show any of the swingin' and swayin' that elvis would do whenever he sang...

old ed gave the crew strict orders to keep the camera on the upper part of his body, elvis' body i mean...

no kidding, i was there... :Peace: :peace:

weren't the beatles accused of that too?

especially the white album...

iirc, you were supposed to play the record backwards to hear the messages...

but after your first acid trip, you didn't need to do that...

you could play it backwards in your mind anytime you wanted...

boy, those were the days!! PBJ PBJ PBJ PBJ PBJ PBJ :Peace:

I almost feel guilty for liking this one too; but going after Imus may mean Jay Z and others will have to just be more creative; the groove will still be there.

But as a teacher the kids keep me young. Least that's my "excuse"...as if I need one. ;)

You now tuned into the muhf**kin greatest!
Turn the music up in the head phones
Tell em' you can gone grush ya shoulders off n****, I got you

Chorus-If you feelin like a PIMP n**** gone brush ya shoulders off
Ladies is PIMPS too, gone brush ya shoulders off. N****s is crazy baby dont forget that boy that told you, GET THAT DIRT OFF YOUR SHOULDER

Probably be locked by the force
Tryna' hustle some things that go with the porsche
Feelin no remorse, feelin like my head was forced
Middle finger to the law, N**** grippin my balls
Said the ladies they love me, from the bleachers they screamin
All the ballas is bouncin, they like the way I be leanin
All the rappers be hatin off the track that I'm makin
But all the hustlers they love it, just to see one of us make it
Came from the bottom of bottom to the top of the box
N**** run through Japan and I'm straight off the block
Like a runnin back, get it man, I'm straight off the block
I can run it back n**** cuz I'm straight with the ROC

Chorus-If you feelin like a PIMP n**** gone brush ya shoulders off
Ladies is PIMPS to gone brush ya shoulders off. N****s is crazy baby dont forget that boy told you get that dirt of your shoulderx4

Yo homie HOV in position, in the kitchen with soda
I just whipped up a watch, tryna to get me a ROVA
Tryin to stretch out the coca like a wrestler, yes sir
Keep the heckala close, you know them smokas will test ya
But like 52 cards went out, now I'm through dealin now
52 bars come out, now you feel em now
52 cars roll out remove ceilings, incase 52 broads come out
Now you chillin with a boss b**** cause S.C. on the sleeve at the 40/40 club ESPN on the screen
I paid a grip for the jeans, plus the slippers is clean
No chrome on the wheels, I'ma balla foreal, CHILL!

Chorus

Boy back in the building
Brooklyn we back on the map
Me and my beautiful Bi--itch in the back of that back
I'm the realest to run it, I just happen to rap
I aint gotta clap at em, n****s scared of that black
I drop that Black Album, then I back out it as the best rapper alive, n****s ask about me
From bricks to Billboards, grams to Grammy's

No wonder people think you flipflop in the DC forum

NaptownChief 04-14-2007 09:19 PM

I've been called Nappy Headed Chief before......those people should be fired also...clearly I should have been insulted and just wasn't smart enough to know better.

I live in the real world. Just like you, Stevie.

I know what IS; yet I aspire to what might be. :)

Hence, I like Jay Z, as he is...in the "real;" yet I know his groove would still be happening, without the potentially offensive crap.

The "is" vs. the "ought to be."

Think about it, bro. :hmmm:

Yeah, I could have.

I thought that a familiarity with what I'm criticizing might earn me a little credibility on the topic though.

You follow? :)

If you haven't ever heard the "Grey Album" you should check it out. Dangermouse (one of the guys in Gnarls Barkley) took Jay's Black Album vocals and completely remixed it using nothing but samples from the Beatles "White Album." If you google Jay-Z "Grey Album," you should be able to find it, though all I could find were torrent downloads. Not sure if you have any torrent software or not. It's very cool.

NewChief 04-14-2007 09:54 PM

Oh, and in the spirit of this turn of the thread. Some of my personal favorite hova lyrics:
Quote:

The year's '94 and my trunk is raw
In my rear view mirror is the mother ****in' law
I got two choices y'all pull over the car or (hmmm)
Bounce on the devil put the pedal to the floor
Now I ain't tryin' to see no highway chase with Jake.
Plus i got a few dollars i can fight the case
So I...pull over to the side of the road
I heard "Son do you know why I'm stoppin' you for?"
Cause I'm young and I'm black and my hats real low?
Do I look like a mind reader sir, I don't know
Am I under arrest or should I guess some mo'?
"Well you was doin fifty-five in a fifty-fo' "
"Liscense and registration and step out of the car"
"Are you carryin' a weapon on you I know a lot of you are"
I ain't steppin out of shit all my paper's legit
"Well, do you mind if I look round the car a little bit?"
Well my glove compartment is locked so are the trunk in the back
And I know my rights so you gon' need a warrant for that
"Aren't you sharp as a tack, you some type of lawyer or something'?"
"Or somebody important or somethin'?"
Nah, I ain't pass the bar but i know a little bit
Enough that you won't illegally search my shit
"We'll see how smart you are when the K9 come"
I got 99 problems but a bitch ain't one

I swear, you are the little brother I never had, man. :hmmm:

You know what they say about youngest children, though....especially compared to oldest sibling types like me. Heh.

That's probably REAL scarey for you, heh. :p
