How about if I boycott Coors because there beer tastes like shit? I guess I shouldn’t say that, their beer actually tastes like beer….with a whole bunch of water added.

Civil Rights Act - 1984? Are you sure that didn't mean 1964?

It's just not in a place where you might accidentally end up there. That part of Folsom Street is bars, clubs, and art lofts, mixed with rehab centers and homeless shelters, although some of it has gone condo, and you might see the fair naturally evolve to the tamer side of street fairs based on the changing neighborhood.

I have seen way more offensive things walking through SF's civic center up to city hall.

The bourbon street comparisons are pretty accurate as far as the amount of public shock goes. It really isn't worth all the outrage.

I'm not outraged at all I just think it's inappropriate and the way it is embraced out here like the never ending coverage on Channel 2 is ridiculous and does not make me sympathize with their problems at all.

You are reaching with that one. I wasn't generalizing jack shit. Hell, the gays that participate in that kind of exhibition might not care about equality. You are too quick to dog on me and you're looking a bit foolish.

I did, but apparently you didn't comprehend. I said, "...I mean, if I lived there, I would probably be upset, but I don't..." Does that not "address the subject" enough for you? Can you provide a rubric or something?

This is where what I post gets ignored.

Let me put it this way. I live just south of SF and am right in the middle of all this. I have also hired hundreds of homosexuals when running health clubs out here. That means I have a lot of exposure and an interest in seeing some of this resolved. I wouldn't call myself sensitive but I would say I am sympathetic to some of their issues. I do support same sex unions for example and I think they should have all the same rights under the law. I do think their fringe goes way too far though and the double standards being accepted is not OK. That would apply to transsexuals as well.

I comprehended how you wanted to bypass and not address the freakshow because it wasn't at your front door step just fine.

BIG_DADDY 09-27-2007 02:28 PM

Pitt Gorilla,

I also comprehended your ability to switch from that to personal attacks instead of addressing the inappopriateness of the parade just fine as well. That is sooooo pit gorilla but don't let the fact that I pointed it out slow you down though big guy.

Man, I wonder if some of you folks are headed to a Klan meeting later.

:)

I love Big Daddy...Having said that...yes, their fringe goes wayyy to far, but the Christians have a fraction of their group that goes too far as well. In fact, any group, whether it be social or religious has a fringe that goes too far. Thats the way of the world.

I di stumble on this fair many years back, and although I was in no hurry to stay...I didnt see sex acts in the street or children running around. I saw alotof bondage stuff, crap for sell etc...but no sex or children. this article, based on my experience with the fair, is very exagerrate and meant to piss off their target reader.
