You really can't keep a secret in the NFL for a whole week. If someone were leaving, they'd be calling around to other teams to find a landing place and word would leak. No one keeps a trade or FA signing secret for a week. Health problems for someone on the staff doesn't sound right. That is not something you announce a press conference for a week in advance.
