The only problem I have with Cowher is...

He used to be on the perennial hot seat in Pittsburgh until he won that Super Bowl...then he went out on top the year after when they underachieved and now everyone (including himself) thinks he's this unbelievably great coach...is he going to come into town and be arrogant and complacent and not work his ass off and think he can get by just because he's Bill Cowher?

I rather see a first time guy like Harbaugh/Smith/Sparano who are going to work their asses off in every phase of being a head coach because this has been their life long dream and they want to be great...not Cowher who is (or at least thinks) already great.

It just amazes me that Herman Edwards continues to have a job.

There is no GM I want here that thinks that Herm should stay.

most overrated coach in recent memory.

congrats on the success 10 years ago, but the guy had made gaffe after gaffe with free agents and draft picks in recent years.

this season he won 8 games in one of the worst divisions in football ever but that's probably a 6 win team otherwise.

i congratulate Denver for being forward looking and having the courage to make the right move even if it may not be popular.

A good GM to feed him his talent and he would be a great coach.

agreed

Herm must have pictures of Clark having a blowjob party with his soccer team

No doubt about this...

BUT...

Shanahan is another one of those stubborn coaches who believes in his way and only his way...if you don't think he had a hand in those horrible defenses then you don't think Herm had a hand in our R2P2 horrible offenses the past few years.

Nothing.

He hasn't found that franchise QB since John. But at least he understands that you have to have that guy to win it.

I'm not saying hire him. Don't get me wrong. I just don't get the people who flame on the idea that he could be a canidate... 2 SBs

Since Elway retired after the 1998-99 season, the Broncos have gone 91-69 (.568) in the regular season, have won only one division title in 10 years and are 1-4 in the postseason.

Is that better than the Chiefs during the last eight years?

If the Chargers flame out in the first round of the playoffs, would it be conceivable that every coach in the AFC West is replaced this year?

No kidding.

If Pioli agreed to come here, but wanted to keep Herm, I wouldn't want him here either.
