I don't care if people question decisions. I just think it's hilarious that people are so negative about coaches they know nothing about. Do these guys motivate players? Do players respond well to them? Do they teach good fundamentals? These are questions we know NOTHING about, and we choose to have a strong opinion anyway. That's especially true for positions coaches--how the **** do we know that a guy like Gary Gibbs isn't outstanding at teaching fundamentals. Have we seen him on the practice field actually teaching players? No. All we can judge these guys on is what we see on paper. That is exactly the problem. And worse, we're assuming because a guy like Pendergast couldn't call good plays that that means he can't coach players. We are blasting the GM for decisions because of some stats and numbers we looked up on Google. Are you serious? Haley and Pioli have worked closely with most of these guys. Don't we think they know just a little bit more about these guys than we do?

We don't know anything about these guys and yet we're willing to rip on the GM that brought him in. It's ridiculous. I'm not blindly supporting these guys. I'm just willing to give them at least an offseason before I start making judgments about them. Innocent before proven guilty.

So you have no questions as to why Krumrine was retained?

Or he really would have slapped the shit out of people.

DeezNutz 02-18-2009 01:00 PM

There's tons of stupid shit going around, though.

Kevin Harlan was on the radio earlier, stating that he didn't think it was a sure bet that Gunther was NOT going to be retained.

Now, Harlan was clearly talking out his ass because of a lack of something substantive to discuss, but imagine the meltdown around here if that had transpired...

Pioli Zombie 02-18-2009 01:01 PM

Careful chiefzilla. These are football geniuses who know more than Pioli. They know more about what these coaches bring to the table. So back off before you are labeled a "dumbass" for giving the new GM and coach a month to turn things around

Why. I think Pioli should just let chiefs planet posters do the drafting

Actually saw the "held back by Herm" excuse floated on the kc_chiefs Yahoo mailing list this morning.

Of course. It's always something.

Apparently Pioli must think the same thing. Guess we'll see.

I'd put the over/under at about 8 games to see dramatic improvement in the line play, or Slap Dick is going to call down the full fury of the Planet.

There's just simply not going to be much patience following an historically inept season.

drill would be fine if the dline under him didn't suck and make him look like a chump with his stupid drill

Pioli Zombie 02-18-2009 01:09 PM

Patience? Really. So what are you going to do? What do you expect next year, a ****ing super bowl. Hate to bring up history but the patriots went 5-11 belichicks first year. I guess he should have been fired right?

You want quick fix. Too bad

Its going to be done the right way not how the fans say to do it thank God.

You came into this thread this morning and started complaining about garbage that WAS NOT PRESENT IN THIS THREAD. What do you not understand about this?

Patience regarding the overall quality of the D-line play, coming off a 10 sack season.

That's all.

This comment makes clear that you've read very few posts by the regulars in this forum, so it would be best to get a little better feel for the tenor of the conversation before needlessly spewing nonsense.
