What I don't understand is why we would bring in two 4-3 defensive coaches and then switch to the 3-4. Clancy only ran the 3-4 when Whiz made him (he didn't use it under Denny Green), and Gibbs ran the 4-3 in NO. This doesn't make any sense to me.

Didn't Bill Maas move to a 3-4 DE later in his career? If he can play the position I'm pretty sure Dorsey can, too. Dorsey is a little bigger but they seem comparable in strength and quickness to me.

I hate the 3-4 but whatever.

Did Haley or Pioli tell Shefter the Chiefs were going 3-4?
Who is Shefter's source? |

let's see.... seymour isn't ONLY a DE in their system, so it's hard to pigeonhole him and say 'HE'S A DE AND HE MAKES A LOT OF MONEY'... he gets paid for his versatility (he's a badass). they gave warren a 7 million dollar signing bonus. check me on this... dorsey got basically a 22 million dollar signing bonus. 50 million total. a few years ago, seymour signed a 4 year 30 million dollar contract, and with signing bonuses being what they were a few years ago, he likely got about ten million dollars. so--I'm not sure of the math, but... 10+7=17 million dollars in signing bonus money for TWO 3-4 DEs (TWO OF THE BEST 3-4 DEs IN THE GAME), but we just gave 22 million to a guy who never played 3-4 in his life, and doens't really seem to fit. are you ****ing reeruned? |

Anyone with half a brain knew that Hali doesn't have a very good first step and wasn't suited for RDE. Anyone with a half a brain knew that Boone wasn't going to make a good LDE and that the addition of Dorsey wasn't going to offset the departure of Allen. |
