I don't like him because he just seems to tell stories. It's like listening to some drunk at a party recount his escapades. I just don't care. You need to listen to a five minute story just to get one joke out of it. I prefer guys that actually make jokes.

That's how Carlin did comedy aswell, he just talked about more relevant things.

I've laughed at some of Dane Cooks jokes I won't lie.

I don't think Carlin did it to the extent Cook does it though. Cook has some funny bits, like the wet bathroom/anti semetic graffiti bit. That's pretty good. The Burger King drive-thru bit with the lady mumbling about pickles is ok. But other ones, like the one where he talks about waiting in line at a store and then some guy cuts in front of him- it goes on and on, and there's really no joke there. He's just talking.
I remember Jerry Seinfeld said, about Howard Stern, something like "It's like sitting around a party all night just to wait for a line." (a line of coke I assume he meant) Dane Cook is kind of like that. It seems like you have to wait through a bunch of crap to get to anything good, and you wonder if it was worth it.

Flip Wilson was great. How could somebody who likes Flip Wilson find Carlos Mencia at all entertaining?

Because the guy has no boundaries; everyone get's equal love and hate. His overall shtick is at the very least a fork in the road compared to George Lopez.
I like his skits more than I like the stand up, but unlike Dane Cook; I can actually finish watching his stand up.

Tell me that shit he does Mario Lopez isn't funny. Tell me "person of Hispanic heritage Man" isn't funny. I grew up watching SNL from the beginning. From the original cast to Murphy, to Farley, Carvey, Myers, Meadows, etc., and I think I have a pretty good bead on what constitutes "funny".

This forum is the ONLY place I know of that I visit regularly, that has 'Hate Posse' for Mencia.

Ive never really watched her standup, but after watching this roast I may be a new Lisa Lampanelli fan. George Carlin, Flip Wilson, C&C, Patrice O'Neal, Henry Rollins, Chris Rock, Ron White, Redd Foxx, Shearer, McKean, Guest, Hollywood Shuffle, Undercover Brother, Clerks, and anything Smith does that doesn't involve sappy, heartstring bullshit = Funny.

Adam Sandler, Ben Stiller, Lisa Lamponelli, Greg Geraldo, Joe "The Douche" Rogan, Owen Wilson, Joe ****ing Piscapo, and that annoying little ****stick that does all the "Rush Hour" movies with Jackie Chan;

Since when is the CC Roast the standard for comedy? Every roast is the same ****ing thing. Norm MacDonald is the only guy to do anything different at one of those. Patton Oswalt's stand-up albums are brilliant, and to dismiss his spot-on analysis of Mencia's shittiness because of three minutes he did at the roast of William Shatner is reeruned.

Hmm... you do know that people hell most if not everyone on here disagree's with you on this topic. Also, from what you said above that this is the only site you visit frequently that has hate for Mencia, wtf kind of sites do you visit? Every site i have been to all pretty much agree Mencia isnt ****ing funny at all.
