He wanted to keep running because this team has no identity. He said it had a purpose as far as the team goes and he would leave it at that

I am also sure that the O-Line giving Cassel .00005 seconds to throw the ball played into that as well.

The purpose was to just get the game over with.

Frankly, I don't see how it matters. The Chiefs had two options: run a screen pass where Cassel gets walloped as he gets rid of the ball or run the ball unsuccessfully.

I would rather have option B, even if it's conservative.

It's pretty damn sad that we had designed plays where Cassel got rid of the ball immediately and he STILL got hit on almost every pass play.

Yeah I am sure it had nothing to do with the O-Line letting 3 defenders on ever play run free and destroy Cassel.

Yep

This is incredibly low standard to say you can't even throw passes when you're getting your asses kicked.

I agree. I saw our supposedly stud LT get abused a ton today and let people just run by him. It was embarrassing.

So hey if we just have to run cause we can't dare throw..

Does that mean the gameplan against the Giants will have 3 passes for the entire game in it?

No kidding.

He might have had 3, loosely defined 'pockets' all. day. long.

Same type of FAIL on the run, with 2-3 iggles swarming the backfield by the time a handoff could be completed.

The Giants game is going to be really, really, really ugly. That might be the first game that I intentionally miss.

If they play like they did today they won't beat anyone.

We won't win any games against top-tier teams. We are clearly outmatched. Let's not forget that Philly, even with Kolb, is a very good team.

Dang. "Fire Haley!" "Kill Haley!" "Decapitate Haley!" "Burn Haley!" "Drink Haley's Blood And Eat His Spleen!"

I admire the enthusiasm, but seriously, you can't have10 penalties for almost 100 yards on the road against anybody in the NFL. Talent-wise, we are a very bad team and Haley's been right all along; we can't afford any mistakes - even against average teams - if we're going to give ourselves a chance.

Haley is not going to lose the team (unless it's via the waiver wire, or by trade). He's not going to quit. And, he's not going to buy a gallon of gas and set himself on fire in front of the Jason Whitlock's house.

All of us (including Haley) just saw how far we have to go. We were outplayed and outclassed by a far superior team. We're not 85% of the way there. We may not be 20% of the way there. This is going to take years ... many, many years.

I don't think we converted a single third down today. Some fans need to run laps.
