Orton played well overall in 2009... placing their collapse on him is weak.

He asked about your age, not your IQ.

That being said, dismissing the signing of Williams because of age and/or injury might be a bit shortsighted.

Many NTs play well into their 30s.

If the contract is reasonable, this could be a good addition for the Donkeys.

I know, but KnowMo makes it sound like he is an elite QB.

Orton had a muuuuch better year than Cassell (sp?). Of course I can't argue with you guys on that one too much. Doesn't seem to be too much delusion regarding the hometown qb on this board.

Blaming Orton is a weak jab... is he a top 7 QB in the league? No, but you also don't need one to win if your team is overall fundamentally sound and last year, they were not... despite the 6-0 surprising start.

In 2009, Orton was...
6th overall in attempts
10th overall in completions
13th overall in yards per game
15th overall in TDs
17th overall in INTs
14th overall in QB rating
14th overall in completion %
16th overall in 1st down %
16th overall in average completion

McD's offense didn't impress many last year, I think he was too conservative at times... it's hard for me to fathom how he couldn't get more production from Royal, Gaffney and others. The ground game wasn't consistently dominant.

Some will blame Orton for all of that and that's fine, I just don't agree with it. Orton was in the top half of just about every important statistical category last year... no, he wasn't perfect and nobody should expect perfection - it's incredibly rare.

I love those stats. 6th overall in attempts, and the numbers climb from there. LMAO

Yeah.

That's like saying that Danny DeVito is taller than Gary Coleman.

There's only a couple of QBs that really stay consistent at the top...
