I've never understood why the draft forum isn't on all the time. (stickied 24/7/365)
There should be a FF forum also. (in-season stickied) |
My vote would be to keep them seperate. They feel like very different topics to me. Once is mainstream, albiet very focused, football discussion and the other is fantasy football.
When someone posts a "What do you think about this draft?" thread without the proper tag, noone will know if it is a fantasy draft or a suggested Chief's draft. Yeah, I get that they generally have different seasons, but my vote is to keep them and good and seperate. A little space used up at the top when you first come into the site doesn't seem like a good enough reason to combine them. Is the fear that newbies will wander in and think the site only has four posts in the last month by accidently falling into a subforum? |
I didn't even know what the default settings were. I have the DC forum hidden, but didn't really know what view the guests get.
SO I logged out and see that by default, the draft forum is hidden but the DC forum is not? What kind of ****ed up logic is that? Now that I've had time to think about this, I think that the draft and FF/Gambling forums should remain separate. The default view for anyone should be Media Center, Draft Forum and FF/Gambling, with the latter turned off during the offseason. |
Lemme try and catch Kyle via IM to chat about the tech side of "hiding" forums by default. If we can make that work and only have a handful shown by default, I'm OK with leaving them separate and "available" year-round.

What about DC? Why is that one in plain view while a legitimate football sub-forum is hidden?

Personally, I have no stake in either. I hide the DC forum and never venture in there. I rarely read the draft forum and never post there. I just thought it was odd that we hide a football subforum and leave that cesspool in plain view. |

I started a mock draft thread. WHICH IS EXACTLY WHAT YOU WANT. It consolidates all the mocks and allows for draft conversation to flow freely. Then a mod moved it. To an unrelated forum. Why would you do that, then continually bring up these bullshit complaints? Shall I dig it up from Casino Planet? |

It's been prompted by years of mods not giving two shits about the biggest influx of talent this team has: the draft. |

Above is the mock draft thread idea I started. Which was started with the EXACT SAME goals that the mods keep complaining about here, i.e. too many mock draft threads. The thread was promptly moved to the Casino forum. Explanations, anybody? Any reason why we're complaining about too many mock threads when a designated mock thread was moved without so much as an explanation? I'm going to let this be my last post on the subject, before the conversation goes in unproductive areas. I've said my piece. But this is really, really crappy. |

I want to apologize for my tone throughout the thread.
I don't mean to come off as a dick. As a rule, I try to save that for the DC forum. :D I just feel like submerging my favorite forum on ChiefsPlanet robs the Planet of the full football experience. I've been rebuffed numerous times and largely ignored on this issue for years now. It's just built up the frustration and boom, here you have it. |

I just wanted to show you something from PatriotsPlanet
I took a screen grab from their main football forum and their version of the lounge. First of all, their header is about an inch larger than CP's. And they have 5 stickies at all times, meaning their members have to scroll for...1 SECOND (the horror) to get to see what they want. So wtf is the big deal with adding 1 more subforum up top? http://i.imgur.com/UG3db.jpg http://i.imgur.com/uBFT2.jpg |
