What about the fact that he averages only 7.2 TD's a season. While guys like Fitz and Megatron, guys he wanted to be paid in line with, averaged almost 3 more TD's per season with 9.8 per season. Those numbers are with 2010, in which he scored 42% of his career TD's. Nearly HALF. The other 4 years of his career, Bowe averages 5 TD's a season. Not exactly 100 million dollar contract material.

With that logic, we should definitely extend Cassel for his 27-7 performance in 2010.

Second, if he's the tenth ranked receiver, pay him like it. Don't pay his as though he's top 3.

THIS

In terms of sheer statistical production, he's #6 the last two seasons.

And again, that's with the Chiefs throwing the ball less than just about everybody.

Also, "he's the only target" isn't sound reasoning because A)he played with Tony Gonzalez and B)Tony Gonzalez was the only target for a long time and no one ever questioned him. Also C)Steve Breaston came along, yet Bowe's production never dropped, and in fact probably went up if you put any stock in catch rate and quarterback play (read: Palko).

To me Bowe is an elite WR & I don't have to look at his numbers to think this. I've watched his play on the field and the guy is a phenom. Also with Baldwin on the field we can have two elite WRs making plays and teams can't just doulbe team on both of them. Baldwin can easily compliment Bowe and vice versa. They are both big WRs that are built for blocking in the running game. Bowe is worth elite WR money his play on the field speaks for itself.

Only 5 WR's over the last 5 years have more TD's than Dwayne Bowe. And that's with 5 ****ing disasters throwing him the ball in a run-based offense.

The bolded comment is pure speculation, as there hasn't been a single report stating exactly what Bowe has asked for.

You'd be better off just saying you don't like Bowe, it would make more sense than this tripe.

Speaking of tripe, another example of why you can't be taken seriously. You don't understand logic. One good season out of a handful is an outlier. Having the 10th most yardage and 6th most TD's of all WR's in the last FIVE YEARS shows consistency. If he only had one good year, as you imply, he wouldn't be anywhere near the top of these rankings.

Again, 10th in yardage, 6th in TD's.

Playing with shit QB's his entire career, and for a run-based team.

Dude's elite, the numbers and situation bear this out.

I'll get flamed for this, but I don't mind because it is absolutely true:

If Dwayne Bowe was a white guy who didn't have an ounce of diva in him, an overwhelming majority of posters would be on board with paying him like the elite WR he is.

But who the QB is doesn't factor into a contract.

If you do a tier system, Bowe is a top second tier WR. If the first tier has four or five of the best in the game. You'll have a hard time finding anyone outside the CP crowd to say Bowe is among the most elite WRs in the NFL (C.Johnson, Fitzgerald, A. Johnson), no one is saying that anywhere.

Megatron is 25-55 in that same time frame. And that's including the 10 win season when he conveniently had a healthy QB all year who wasn't an abject reerun. Hmm....

In Jamaal's big 2010 season, do you know how many rushing TDs he had? A whopping 5. That's it. 5 rushing, 3 receiving. He only has 12 rushing for his entire career. Is that Jamaal's problem that he needs to fix like Bowe does?

Bowe's a WR. If he isn't thrown the ball in the end zone, he doesn't catch it. Go ahead and factor in one or two TDs that he should have caught. The average doesn't go up that much still. Is that Bowe's fault? Is it Bowe's fault that he had zero catches in the Baltimore game? I mean, sure he had zero targets from Captain Shithead in that game, but it must be his fault, right?

False correlation. Logical fallacy. Emergency shutdown.

Rasputin 07-17-2012 05:06 PM

He has made some of the most incredible catches I have ever seen a player make. I don't know what to tell the people who don't think he deserves to be paid "elite"? Exept maybe **** you?

Yep.

Our fanbase doesn't like anyone with an ounce of street jock in them, and neither does the Patriot Way.

Well, OTW beat me to the punch. So just forget my last post

The contract demand is only speculation to you b/c it doesn't support your argument. Other than that, it has been hinted at that he was expecting something unreasonable, and Schefter more or less confirmed Bowe wanted to be paid in line with Fitz and Megatron.
He fact that you choose to ignore it only confirms how jaded your view of Bowe is. We get it, you REALLY like him, get a room.

Hammock Parties 07-17-2012 05:12 PM

Anyone know what Tamba Hali's record as a starter is?

I want an OLB who is a winner.

Any good agent will make sure its a factor.

"My client has spent the last 5 years busting his ass for your organization, and has put up numbers comparable to Calvin and Andre Johnson while playing in a run-first offense with, excuse me for saying, but poor QB play. Imagine the numbers he would put up if he was the focus of the offense, like Calvin and AJ are."

That's just the beginning.

Now, a question for you:

Once again, he's a whopping 19.41 yards and .16 TD's a game shy of the best numbers put up by a WR in the past 5 years. Which happened to be his first five years. He's currently in his prime.

Do you honestly think that solid QB play wouldn't easily make up 19 yards and a small fraction of a TD per game?
