About 10 years after I became a Chiefs fan, I found out that my maternal grandfather played for the Redskins in the 50's (my mom is adopted and didn't have any contact with her real father until right before he died several years ago). I've thought several times about switching my fandom to the Redskins for family reasons but just can't do it. I guess I'm stuck with my bad girlfriend. :banghead:

I'd let Rosie O'Donnell and Rosanne Barr take turns straddling my face while 100 midgets run a train on me before I ever did that

I know this subject has been covered ad nauseum, but lets take a different look at it. The Chiefs suck, they aren't going anywhere anytime soon. The Buckeyes are on a bowl ban, they are way overrated at #12, and watching them on Saturday made me sad. I realized that this team has a long way to go before I consider them good. I have become some apathetic towards the Chiefs and the Buckeyes that a lot of times I just don't care. I only watched 2Chiefs games last year. The Buckeyes I watched all their games, but never with great expecations.

When do you reach a point where you realize that your time is better off doing something productive? Have you as a fan reached that point? Are you a fan who will never do that? I admit that I will not go out of my way to go to Damon's and pay for lunch so I can watch the Chiefs this year. I remember the days of Trent Green and Priest Holmes, I was actually excited to watch the Chiefs, but I digress. I will keep watching the Buckeyes, but man does it suck to have teams you know aren't going to do anything this year.

Listen, the 3 hours you spend watching 2 hours of commercials and one hour of action, you will never get back, ever. Football is a distraction for me. Sometimes I need a productive diversion, to chill and meditate and relax.

If they fail to entertain, then I go elsewhere with my entertainment dollars. Simple business deal, kind of like when Neil Smith went to the Broncos for more pay and a shot at the Super Bowl. Nothing personal, just business. Kind of like TG spiking that football on us. Nothing personal, just business.

It would be more likely that I could be a Charger fan than that. At least they have nice weather, friendly people, and nice beaches.

the bucks had been on top for a while, quite a while...then the worm turned. it's cyclical. sometimes the wheel turns faster than other times. it's been a rough road for Michigan fans. after two weeks it looks like this could be a long season. you ain't had it half as tough as Blue fans have the last 5/7 years....so....TOUGH SHIT BUCKEYES! MWAAAAAHAHAHAHAAAAAA!
but seriously, you can't EVER give up on your boys! I root for Blue....and I root for Red. Go Blue and Go Chiefs. too bad it may be a long season for both....but I'ma keep on rooting for both....til the day I die.

PS - it's a bitch to say it....I don't hate the bucks....but **** YOU NOTRE LAME!....and so I begrudgingly ask.....is it time to give Quinn a shot???
I just threw up in my mouth a little.....

And I don't care if it makes me a shitty fan but I started Ryan and Jones yesterday.

The wife and I are both Chiefs homers, but we've given up the 'ruin my day if they lose' mentality long ago. Do I yell just as loud when Jamaal is scampering for 46, damn straight!

We also both play fantasy, love it, and each bought into the Falcons offense improvements, so we each started our Falcons with confidence. And they all delivered.

BTW, think KC will look MUCH improved next week vs Bills.

I am starting to think the Cubs franchise is the model for both the Royals and the Chiefs.

They fill Wrigley no matter what, it is just a big party.

People always say that they would make more if they build a contender, but sometimes I wonder....

See, I think that's the rub. There are towns like NY and Dallas that scream for a winner and their owners try their darndest. Then, there are towns like KC, Cleveland, Cincy that have such loyal fans, the owners have decided to take their profits and trot out subpar teams. They must sit back at night, read Chiefs Planet's and grin like a cheshire cat.
