Luck is a better QB than Smith, but I think the latter played as well if not better yesterday.

that's why I said 5 years 50 mil.

10 mil a year, is MODEST for a franchise qb.

There is no NEED to extend Alex Smith. Alex WANTS to be in KC and WANTS to be Andy Reids QB. There is no THREAT that he is leaving town, therefore there should be no hurry to toss him a bunch of money. He had a handful of good games this season, at least half of his games were garbage.

Quit being an idiot.

If he didn't win you over yesterday, you should probably just post how there's nothing he can do to make you an Alex Smith fan.

Now, could the offense have made a couple of extra plays to seal the win and save the D's ass? Of course. But perfection is a pretty hard standard in terms of assigning blame.

See the other thread on who wins when the defense gives up 45.

All that said, and being a Smith supporter, we only extend him at a decent price.

Hell I'm willing to overpay for him as long as the length is reasonable.

You're right. We should wait until he has more weapons to work with, and the Chiefs have less leverage so we can pay him more next year.

And we are all the idiots. Right.

Save the hyperbole.

If you think this was a team loss, then you're exactly what TK said.

A miserable human being.

No sane, rational person would put any of this loss on the offense or Alex Smith. It's cherry picking bullshit that wants to paint everyone as the culprit when there was only one side of the ball that didn't hold up their bargain.

44 ****ing points playing without Charles and his 2nd WR and you want to tell me this was a team loss. **** off with the sports cliches.

^ exactly

The Bad Guy 01-05-2014 03:36 PM

I'm not giving him 5 and 90. I'm giving him 3 at 35-36 on top of next year so it'd basically be 4 at 44.

so the difference in our thinking is 2 mil. Id prefer the years over the dollars.

As a fan, and im sure Alex would to.

Shit bump it to 4 at $48MM and call it good. Make it front loaded and easy to dump in 3 years if need be.

I think he'd take 12 million a year.

Guy has made his money in this league.

Alex wants to be shown loyalty. He CARES nothing about the dollar figure. He wants to be embraced by the franchise.

Just my opinion. But he has always shown that loyalty is much more important than MONEY.
