No.

Starting CB for 1 season for backup QB for the foreseeable future?

No, thanks.

3.5 saved this year and 11.5 next year.

Give that money to Justin Houston and use the depth of this draft class to replace Flowers.

All in all, I think we can realistically get a mid third for him because his base salaries (all that a team that trades for him has to worry about paying him) are very reasonable.

They are basically trading for Flowers on a 3year 18 million dollar deal.

If I'm a team in need of a CB, I'd give up a third for that in a heartbeat...a logical landing spot would be Chicago IMO.

This. Call me crazy but I see the Niners as our perfect partner for this trade. They have a desperate need for a corner, and a feeling that they need to keep up with the Seahawks. More importantly, they have a ton of picks to spare. Being that they're a late round pick the price would be steeper, but would anyone be interested? Say a first and three other picks? 1st, 2nd, and 2 4's?:hmmm:

I'd prefer not to do business with the 9ers if at all possible. Those guys fisted us on the Alex Smith trade..

Nobody is gonna give up anywhere near that much to move up a few spots at the end of the first, Blackbob.

An Alex Smith hater ay? I'll take the last 10 weeks of offense on repeat and be a happy man this year, but I just think it's a team like that with extra picks. Lions are in a win now mode and have been open about wanting to make moves. Say they don't get there guy, the top 2 WR's are gone, Gilbert gone, Matthews gone, is #10 too valuable for them to trade? Even if it's not a 1st this year, Detroit might be the trade partner as well.

Have you seen the amount of picks Harbaugh has? These teams are in win NOW modes, that is the whole point of pondering this. Flowers has huge value to a team who feels they are one piece away, I bet the Giants wouldn't have signed Thurmond and DRC as quickly as they did if they knew this would happen.

I think I would make that trade. Glennon went 19 TD, 9 INT as a rookie. Andy Reid has a history with QBs and can make him look like Nick Foles.

Dude is still on a cheap rookie contract.

Smith provided a LOT more value this year than Flowers did.

If you think Chiefs got fisted, then why not look at this as getting even?

Twice as much, according to Pro Football Reference. Approx Value of 13 vs Flowers of 7. By comparison Peyton Manning led the NFL at 19. So the gap from Manning to Smith was equivalent to the gap from Smith to Flowers.

Mike Glennon is exactly the type of QB that a team would sink 6 or 7 years into, thinking he's the answer, only to find out in the end that he's not.

He doesn't have the upside I want in a QB, at all.

I dont think he is any worse than Joe Flacco or Eli Manning....and their teams were able to win a superbowl with them.

CoMoChief 05-08-2014 11:58 AM

I dont mind trading Flowers at all.

However it would be criminally stupid to trade Eric Berry unless it's some kind of ridiculous deal like a top 10 pick this year, someone's first next yr and a 2nd or 3rd the following year.

Which that would never happen....so therefore it's stupid as shit to trade Eric Berry.
