Lewdog holdin' it down.

I agree with everything he's said, btw.

Just saw an Applebee's commercial for the "Pub Diet."

But you're right, I'm sure it's the sugar that's making people fat.

Those actually look like very decent dinner options. All under 600 calories.

Total. ****ing. Bullshit.

The mere fact that eating too much sugar makes you fat alone is enough reason to say that.

Maybe so. I'm just saying your personal anecdote doesn't mean a whole lot.

I'm sure many people on this board have known 30+ year cigarette smokers that have seen their 80s. Doesn't mean cigs don't cause cancer.

You extrapolated that on your own, based on an assumption. I called for moderating it's use. That was responsibility right there.

What? I asked a question. I made no form of assertion. Do... do you know the difference?

Topic was not about personal responsibility but the characteristics of sugar if'n' you noticed. Responsibility is another angle. I addressed sugar. It was educational which affects the market. Food companies have responded to a degree from that. After that others can choose to act based on that or not.

I was sincerely asking what you were advocating, if anything. You responded by neg repping me and posting all of this bullshit. Over and over I try to engage you and EVERY TIME you play the victim card. I was actually genuinely curious what you would advocate as any type of solution, but instead you just assumed I was disparaging you. Why? Insecure much? Get off the ****ing cross and start talking to people rather than at them.

So quit being a jerk and read with comprehension. That would handle your confusion. Also, I am not a libertarian. I just know big agra is in bed with govt protecting them. Corny syrup is even worse and that's due to govt policies that it's in so many many things. No it's not the same as in it's just another calorie it metabolizes differently.

Did we have a conversation I missed? When did I call you a libertarian? All I asked is what you were advocating. I should have known better than to ask your opinion, because you even turn THAT into persecution. Jesus.

I dunno. You've made at least six assumptions while I asked a question which inferred nothing. You, like usual, went paranoid victim complex on me. I don't even know what the **** you're talking about.

So where's the lack of responsibility? Nowhere.

America is incredibly obese. Doesn't that indicate there is a lack of responsibility being taken by the public where their diet is concerned? This question wasn't about YOU dumbass. I was asking your opinion and I assure you it's a mistake I'll never make again. This is why most folks on this forum tend to prefer mocking you over engaging you.

As for someone calling out posters for criticizing the big food companies denying them their right to an opinion, that also doesn't mean those doing the criticizing buy those products either. Afterall, organic food purchases grew 14% from 2013-14 and more natural food markets are opening.

In fact The Guardian reports :

Again, did we have a conversation I was not involved in?

IMO. Some here don't agree with that.

Silock 01-04-2015 02:22 AM

They don't agree because there is overwhelming scientific evidence that they're safe.
