I generally agree with this. Athletes have an incredible ability to forget and refocus.

Look at last year's World Series (regrettably).

Game 1, not close, LOSS
Game 2, not close, WIN
Game 3, close, WIN
Game 4, had lead, then not close, LOSS (and the game that cost us the series.)
Game 5, not close, LOSS
Game 6, not close, WIN
Game 7, close, LOSS

Back and forth, matchups

Exactly... these guys play hundreds if not thousands of games, granted most of them without the same level of pressure, they go through the same routine before every game and like you said, they know how to move on and focus on what needs to be done.

The unlikelihood of the Royals' comeback along with the Astros' youth could always play a role, I guess, but unless they start doing things far outside of what they've done so far this postseason, it'll be hard to say if it was a factor.... and even then, it could just be baseball.

What are you wearing so we can spot you?

A blue shirt. I'll actually be about a dozen rows behind where he sits.

I think you're right. There's a LOT of difference given that each pitcher has such different tenancies, temperaments, and abilities.

In this case I hope Johnny has his best stuff working for him today, and he settles-in without too many "look at my bad-ass twisty moves" antics. Just listen to SP and throw the pitches he tells you to throw, in the locations he tells you to throw them.

Yeah, and we talk a lot about team momentum and what the team has to be thinking after a win or loss, etc; and while you can definitely see teams struggle or play well together, who knows how it impacts individuals from game to game.... especially pitchers.

Oh man, just found out free tickets are available to the wife and I. He just has to pull them off StubHub and email them. Still waiting for confirmation.

Also, just so you bidgez are aware, yesterday about 1600 CDT, 30 years ago, Danny Jackson shut out the Blue Jays in Game 4 of 1985 ALCS. George bricks Bell that MLB didn't want a Canadian team to make the WS.
