Loser has to go away for the rest of the season? |
I hope this guy can play. Browns owe us some payback for Dwayne Bowe...

That helps. 2nd 3rd 4th 6th 6th (comp) If we can trade Alex Smith at some point that will be a huge boost for next year's draft. I hope Mahomes proves he's ready in time for a Smith trade. |
BV is one intense, passionate and competitive guy based on his words and body language from his limited time in video interviews that I have seen. That is the first thing I look for are the type of words he uses, demeanor/tone in how he say's them and his body language. And you are seeing his intense, passionate competitiveness on display these past few days as we speak.:thumb:

You got me. Of course, it was massive hyperbole but I said it, nonetheless. The reality is that I doubt they could have drafted an offensive lineman in the 5th round of the 2018 draft that has as much upside as Erving. |
Kevin Hogan
Tyreek Hill DJ Alexander James O'Shags Aaron Murray Sanders Commings 1 great starter and 1 good ST drafted with our 5th round picks in this regime. I am all for this with the roster being as set as it is. Get rid of Jah Reid and save money with this kid as a reserve. Fulton, Witzmann and Erving make me feel very comfortable at backup. Zach Fulton is most likely gone after this season, so Erving being here for a year to learn our scheme and bulk up as a cheap 2018 backup G/C is great. We can draft another guy next spring to develop for 2019. |
Chiefs acquire OT/C Cameron Erving from Browns for 5th-round pick
The Chiefs weren't one of the teams I highlighted that could trade for Cameron Erving, as they didn't have a need at center or right tackle. However, Erving was acquired to serve as a versatile backup. He can play four of the five positions up front. He can't play those positions well, but he can at least be penciled into the lineup at four spots. Erving has been a complete failure thus far as a former first-round pick, routinely whiffing on blocks and getting called for penalties. However, he does have talent, so motivation has been an issue. Perhaps being with a winning organization will help him make something out of his career. We've seen it with Greg Robinson, who has improved in Detroit after floundering with the Rams. For a fifth-round pick, why not take a chance on him? As for the Browns, it's nice that they got at least something for Erving. I get the sense that they were going to dump Erving during final cuts, so it's great that they received a fifth-round pick for him. FYI you don't want Erving playing tackle. He was a complete dumpster fire this preseason.

They get an A- for trading a 1st round pick for scraps.
