PBJ Let it SNOW, Let it SNOW, let it SNOW!
|
I remember the snow and cold of the 1970s and the heat of 1980.
I was stuck in -20 weather in Overland Park in 1979 with my new (used) car that wouldn't start. I froze my ass off until my dad showed up to get me going. I worked as a landscaper at what is now Overland Park Regional Center in 1980. Eleven straight days of 100+ temperatures, one day below 100, then 6 more days of 100+. I wonder how those sort of days and temps would be reported now? ARMAGEDDON! |

I hate this ****ing weather. Seems to be the worst winter I can remember and thats not only because of the snow, but it seems like its almost been non stop cold except for those few nice days thrown in there.
So I looked up the number of days 50 or above from Dec. 1 to today Feb 16. These were from reported highs in downtown KC. 2016-2017 (29) 2017-2018 (30) 2018-2019 (21) So this winter has been real shitty in regards to temp, but on top of that it keeps ****ing snowing or icing. |

As a young man I think I dealt with the winter the best. At least you could dress for it. That summer was brutal. |

I remember the coldest night ever in KC, -23 . My friend's heater could barely heat the house. I got to huddle with my friend, who happened to be a super hot chick, all night on his hide-a-bed just because it was so cold. I thought about trying something but it was too cold. We just wanted to stay warm.
The next day my k-car was the only car that started. |
