Because Ned knows best. The arrogant asshole won a WS, because he was gifted a back end of the bullpen that was fool proof. He just has to be the smartest guy in the room. I love how defensive he gets over his dumb ass decisions.

I don't know what there is to defend. Pretty much every pitcher out there in that bullpen has been a disaster, except for Kennedy and now Barlow. Diekman has been better, but even this his last couple outings have taken him 25 pitches to get through an inning.

Boxberger has given up a run in 5 of his 9 appearances and 9 runs in 8 1/3 innings pitched. Most all of those are high leverage situations, so id say it's pretty ****ing clear everyone but Ned that Boxberger cant handle pitching in the situations he keeps getting put into. He does the same shit every single year and puts dog shit players in the lineup every night, but some try to excuse it because he won a WS.

Why Not? 04-15-2019 11:00 PM

I don't disagree, Boxberger's not been good, but pretty much every pitcher we have does that.

This is our bullpen. Who is he supposed to throw out there?

Kennedy 1.13
Boxberger 9.72
Diekman 3.86
Peralta 7.71
Barlow 2.57
Sparkman 7.36
Lovelady 16.20
Newberry 9.00

That's on Dayton, not Ned. This doesn't even include Hill (9.00), Zimmer (9.00) and McCarthy (19.64). 8 of the 12 pitchers who have been in the bullpen have ERAs above 7. You aren't going to have any kind of sustained success relying on about two guys.

Kennedy was lined up for the 9th

He would have used Diekman but the first two due ups were righties. You don't want Newberry or Sparkman. Peralta unavailable. It's on Moore.

Don't get me started on Zimmer. Yeah he has a 9 ERA, but he only had 3 appearances and 2 of those he didn't allow a run, then they send him down for control problems, but wtf did they expect when he was hardly getting to pitch. They ****ed him over.

I'd take Newberry and Sparkman over Boxberger. I know Boxberger will **** it up.

Boxberger was signed to be a closer or 8th inning guy for us. That isnt on Ned. Its too early in the season to just not utilize him the way the GM intended
