I understand the trade in the sense that HOU probably couldn’t afford the new contract Hopkins was looking for. I think it’s a smart move that most GMs don’t make. If you know you can’t resign him, you may as well get something in return. David Johnson will have a decent season too which will help.

It’s not an even trade per se, but one that has to be done if you know you can’t afford DH.

I think the problem is that DH continued to clash with O'Brien. That teams were reluctant to give full market value for someone Houston determined had to go.

Sure he wants more money but he is signed for the next two. Think they really wanted a high enough pick to grab one of the top Wr in the draft and up grade the RB position the money seems to be a wash.

Wasn't BoB just given the GM title or something?

Freaking moron is single-handedly destroying his own team. Hopkins is easily worth a top 20 1st round pick. Especially since he was Watson's go-to receiver in tough situations. Not to mention his most reliable and most available receiver. Was probably worth at least 2 wins per season.

HOU might not make the playoffs next season.

sully1983 03-16-2020 03:46 PM

lmao so I guess Watson won't be playing his air guitar much in the future. What a total fleecing by Arizona. Well done

Crazy, Hopkins was their main offensive weapon. Houston just got much worst.

Hopkins is considered one of the best WRs in the NFL. How could they not get more in trade?

Hopkins was under contract until 2022 and there was no talk of holding out.

What the **** are you talking about?

There are rumors that he was expecting a new contract. It only makes sense if that’s the case. If you know you can’t pay what he wants, you ship him. Still not a good trade, but I suppose it’s better than nothing.

If that weren’t the case, then obviously one of the worst trades every.

I don't understand this trade at all. Like this would only make sense if BOB is a mole working for the cardinals. Isn't Johnson basically done anyway?

tk13 03-16-2020 11:42 PM

On the flip side of this thing, having two guys with the hands like Hopkins and Fitz is ridiculous. Murray just needs to chuck it somewhere in the area code and his guys will catch it. And that doesn't even include Kirk and his speed.

Excellent Mr. Smithers Veach. Now focus on the Ravens.

I’d be on suicide watch were I a Texans fan.

“To recap, here are some of the trades that committee had made before Monday’s doozy: Jadeveon Clowney to Seattle for a third-round pick (and picking up $7 million of his salary as part of the deal); two first-round picks and a second-round pick to Miami for Laremy Tunsil (who still needs a massive contract) and Kenny Stills; a fourth-rounder (which eventually turned into a third-rounder) to Cleveland in exchange for Duke Johnson; and a third-round pick for Raiders first-round flameout Gareon Conley.”

I expect nothing less from a man who has a butthole on his chin.

Holy shit notorious. That Texans forum was hilarious.
