Myles Jack is actually you know, really good, I wish our LB's struggled like that. |

I think it's fair to say that King has connections to the Chiefs. He has been right about some very specific things lately.

If you want to compare a LB to DJ coming out, athletically and all that it's Queen, he's an uber athlete that is a bit undersized and isn't a big fan of taking on blockers as he goes around them and dips under...
It's not ****ing Simmons. |

Like, I literally completely forgot about Tyson. wasn't he like #3 overall or something. |

A lot of that has to do with the fatalistic attitude of we Chiefs' fans. :D |

This rumor reminds me of when the Chiefs were reportedly willing to trade up for Laquon Treadwell a few years ago. We never got to know if and how much that was true.
In this case, I can believe that Veach and Reid really like Ruggs but the chances that they make any significant trade up for him is extremely slim IMO. It seems like a trade up would cost something like their 2nd round pick. I really don't see it. Plus, from what I've read on Ruggs, he seems to bring a bit more of the same that Hill and Hardman bring to the table. It's not like he would bring a new dimension to the offense. |

They only way this makes sense is if they scouted next years crop of WRs and didn't see anyone they liked.
Veach has shown he is aggressive when there is a player he likes... both with money and draft resources. Speaks, Mathieu, Clark, Watkins...and Mahomes (Dorsey). Obviously, there is a lot of communication with Reid and Spagnuolo. They know what they have and what they need... Mahomes is Veach's professional crown jewel...the pick of a lifetime. He is always going to aggressively to supply him with weapons.. which as a fan is fun to experience. He caught a lot of ridicule for saying "He's the best player I've ever seen" before Mahomes was even starting....so I think there is a little of "prove you wrong" vindication in him. I think the deal would have to include next's years #32. This move would free up $14 million next year (not resigning Watkins)...then you subtract an additional 2021 1st round contract. Money is going to be tight in the future... 5 years of Ruggs is, financially, about the cost of a single season of Watkins...there is a chance to get a 3rd comp if Watkins signs a big deal. Chiefs probably arent going to be big spenders next season... The other boon is the Chiefs offense will be nasty this year.... |
