I think most everybody would agree that they were not wronged in any way last night. The criticism is that the Eagles players showed up and were playing hard to win the game, while their coach clearly wasn't interested. It probably didn't help that it was Sunday Night Football and a division rivalry. Throwing in back-up QBs like that is not normal in a competitive game. Hope coach learned what he needed to learn from seeing Sudfeld and it was worth losing the respect of his players.

Also it was counter-intuitive to what the Eagles should have been doing which is to give Hurts as many snaps as possible in their continued evaluation of him.

I don't think he's necessarily their long term answer at QB, but he has better long term prospects than Sudfeld.

Though, now they might be able to answer that Sudfeld is not going to be a good enough backup to compete if Hurts isn't the answer.

I still don't understand why people are defending a QB that was 7 for 20 with 72 yards and an INT before being pulled in the 4th quarter.

It's like all of these "news sources" are just glossing over the fact that Hurts was sucking ass last night, not to mention, the game was completely meaningless for the Eagles in terms of their season.

The Eagles also moved from 9th to 6th in the Draft Order. Tanking isn't an issue in the NBA or MLB but suddenly, it matters because of the Eagles?

Had the Jets been smart enough to tank, they'd have Trevor Lawrence and lots of interest from respected coordinators. Instead, the most sought after coaches will look elsewhere while the Jets draft yet of another Top 5 tackle.

From Philly's perspective, Hurts sucked so he got pulled to give the 3rd stringer a shot. Pederson played it like a preseason game, WHICH IT IS TO THE EAGLES.

Don't mention Wentz. He has trade value, and if you put him in and he gets injured you are completely ****ed.

crayzkirk 01-04-2021 10:33 AM

Maybe Peterson had seen enough and didn't want to take a chance on injuring his QBOTF. I didn't see the end of the game so I missed most of what is causing the controversy however what about the QB that was put in and had his teammates basically not block? I can understand being pissed and causing penalties however allowing your fellow player to get possibly injured thru no action of their own seems wrong. After all, was he supposed to refuse to go into the game?

Wentz wasn't even active, which is just another sign that the Eagles had zero intention of winning.

LMAO

Add that on with Pederson talking about playing the 3rd stringer last week and you have a lot of emotional outburst based on nothing.

If the Giants wanted to make the playoffs, they should have won more of the 16 games they played, and not let it come down to a game they had no control over....

Obviously the Jets weren't tanking as it turns out, and even if they were there is a difference between trying to tank for Trevor Lawrence, and tanking for the right to draft 6th overall.

The NFC Least is more entertaining when they don't play.

We get to play them all next year. It should be quite entertaining.

It's already time to play them again?

That season was the most pissed I've been at this team since the Patriot Way infested Arrowhead.

Man how time flies.

Jason kelce and Zach ertz are Philly legends and have been extremely professional throughout their career. For them to act like this suggests the players were caught off guard and hints that there are way deeper problems in that locker room.

Its almost like there were direct playoff implications in one scenario and not in the other. I mean the NFL did flex the game to national TV for a reason.
