England is so damn stupid. How can there be a royal family in 2021? Should have been stopped when Parliament was formed.

I am firmly on team I quit caring about the royal family in 1776 when we told them to get the **** up on out of OUR country. The only reason I even opened this thread is because I am bored to tears at the moment.

From the little bit that I've been subjected to this British soap opera (because the story is everywhere) I get the sensation that Meghan is a spoiled, woke, millennial activist type. Not that I hold the royals in any higher regard but, it is their world she chose to join. I suppose that her being an American I could try and find amusement in her figurative destruction of Buckingham Palace as payback for the Brits burning down the White House in the War of 1812 but, yeah, I still can't find any ****s to give.

And I just can't wrap my mind around why so many in this country do. Delayed Stockholm Syndrome?

He was basically acting as king in all but name. When Cromwell died guess who he named his successor? His son.

It went badly for Cromwell's son and soon enough the people of England wanting their monarch back. Charles the 2nd came back to England to claim the crown.

Imagine being offended at the thought of the Royal Family being racist. Of course the royal family is racist, their bloodline is the only reason they matter at all. That makes them royal supposedly, royal bundle of stickss

I thought the least believable part of her interview was playing dumb about marrying into royalty.

If she would have taken a stance like: It's like having kids, there's no way that reading about it can actually prepare you for the reality...

That would have been more believable.

If Meghan, with Harry's help, can play a role in bringing that about than they will have done the UK a great public service for which they should be proud!

Prince Harry's game really fell off a cliff this year. Maybe he can get back to decent now that he is playing for the Colts, but after seeing this thread i have to wonder about off the field issues.

I don't know, we are turning out to be pretty stupid in picking our rulers by their last names. Had 2 Bush's, 3rd was the favorite for a while. 2 Clintons have run, some people want Michelle Obama to run, just like others really want Trumps kids to run. Of course you can toss in all the Kennedys in gov't.
