I always wanted to build an out-of-this world baseball/softball complex (think "big league dreams, but on steroids)........and have it be non-profit, allowing all walks of life the ability to play on awesome fields/facilities.

Half of it into savings immediately. Charitable donations would come out of this half. Start looking into lawyers, accountants, etc. Hard to know who to trust right off the bat is the problem, dont' want to get Nick Caged, hence the half into savings. Probably give money back to my old school district when I was a kid, former teachers that made a difference to me, coworkers, people who could use a hand.

I'm not working anymore, getting that 40 hours a week back to go do whatever the hell I want. Wife will do the same. Have to stay in the area for our kid to finish high school, we wouldn't want to pull them away from their friends and grandparents in the area.

Force parents into retirement, buy my parents a new house wherever they want, probably new vehicles too. Take care of the in-laws as well.

Start figuring out amounts to go to which Aunts and Uncles and cousins, definitely pay off my immediate Aunts and Uncles debts, those who were there all my life and helped raise me, took me to Chiefs games when I was young, camping, fishing, etc. Certain family is in the armed forces, make sure they're setup when they get out.

Buy season tickets to the Chiefs so we stop using my in-laws tickets when it gets too cold is a big one right out of the gate.

All the while my wife and I will be looking at land locally to build a new home in the KC Metro area, fix up our current home, pay it off and probably give it to one of my friends or family who really need it. After everything is as setup as it can be at home, I'd like to travel around the United States a bit, then overseas. I'm sure my wife would want a tropical vacation of some kind, which I would be all for. Just so many things to even think of, I'm sure in many ways it's a curse, but it's nice to dream about all the good it could do for you and those you care for, even those who don't get noticed in this world and need it the most. I've never been wealthy before so alot of new territory there.

This but I’d buy houses in LA, Rocky Mountains, NYC, Miami and one in Europe.

Next time we need to pool our resources to increase our odds. I think we can trust rainman to hold our moneys.

I'd build a compound that would consist of a new home, event barn (can't have your dirty ****ers messing up the house), I'd probably build a guest house and let my parents live in it for now, I'd also build a small camp ground with full hookups, maintenance barn, etc.

I'd buy a Newell Coach with a stacker trailer. I'd buy high end RV spots in Florida, Montana, and Vegas.

I don't think I'd buy houses in different areas....at least not in the US. If it's places like LA, NYC and Miami....I'd just go with a condo or something. Something big enough for us and the kids...and then pay someone to check on it weekly for upkeep.

I'm good with a house somewhere around Topanga, CA. Maybe somewhere in the neighborhood of 1.5-3m in buy and renovation costs. 1 million a year for me and the wife to live. With the usual COLA's. Kids, parents, siblings, would be taken care of. I could see upwards of 70-80% of all winnings going into a trust for future generations beyond us.

Rain Man 07-29-2022 06:25 PM

If you take the cash option and pay roughly 40 percent on that amount in taxes, you'll take home a little more than $448,000,000. This will produce a sustainable income cash flow of almost $18 million per year. So you can spend about $49,000 a day, 365 days a year, without drawing down any of the winnings.

I would give about 1/3 of it to family, a scholarship fund, and some other charitable stuff. Subtracting that out, that would leave me with an income of about $1 million per month. And yes, I mean month.

You quote this post and agree….. I’ll give you $100K if I win. You give me $100K if you win. Deal?

Bought $20 worth. I’ll usually buy lottery tickets only when it gets to $600 million or better and I hear it’s up to that number. Always thought it was a waste of money but to dream……

Like any of us couldn’t live in say $50 million. :)
