The Chiefs need to get this guy.

Id be pumped if we traded for Moore but I would prefer a young pass rusher if we are going to give up major draft capital in a trade. Keep building up the defense..
Mahomes and Reid are always going to scheme points. We are currently putting up more points than anyone else in the league.

Not sure either Id call Moore a top 10 receiver in the league but when you consider hes only 25 years old and has played with horrible QBs you may have something there. Veach has shown he prefers younger players on the upward trajectory of their careers.

I'd try and get the LT they just drafted this past year. Maybe something like...

Panthers get:
OBJ, OT
Hardman, WR
2023 1st rounder
2023 2nd rounder
2024 2nd rounder

Chiefs get:
DJ Moore, WR
Ikem Ekwonu, Rookie LT 6'4 320lbs

DJ Moore would cost us:
2022: Under a million rest of this year
2023: about $22.2M
2024: about $16M
2025: about $16M

Ikem Ekwonu is on a rookie deal that can't be beat.

Is the LT struggling, cuz if he’s not I’m not sure they’re going to want to deal him.

Wouldn't put Deebo ahead of him. Would prefer him to DK and Evans in this offense and with inferior quarterback play he's been more productive than AJ Brown.

But I think Brown vs Moore is a choose your flavor scenario. It's closer than many realize.

Argue in the margins if you want - that's fine. But he's a damn good player.

I'm sure your right and he was the first tackle drafted this past year. Just thinking that they tend to be more of a running team and getting picks plus a run blocking tackle in OBJ might be enough to make the deal happen....Ekwonu could of been a Matt Rhule pick/player and they would of rather had a bigger road grader type? Just speculation of course.

He is. Most notably as a pass blocker.

A) that deal would WRECK their cap, especially when all the dead money from Okwenu and Moore hits their cap next season and they have to re-sign Brown AND Hardman. B) they'd never deal him this early and C) he's nowhere near able to protect Mahomes blind side right now.

He's losing pass rush reps in those ways that get QBs hurt. He's missing protection assignments and getting beat inside.

That's a complete non-starter, IMO.

Not trying to debate ya or start an argument. I agree he is a helluva player that has been hampered by horrible QB play. No one ever sees him play in Carolina either. If Veach considers him a top ten receiver in the league at 25 years old and a perfect fit for this offense I hope he is on the horn.

Let the Bills go trade for an expensive, aging and injury prone RB in CMac and we counter that by going after a stud WR in DJ Moore. Would love that!

Had no idea he was struggling so much. So maybe we don't take him, still send OBJ to them and they plan to slide Okwenu inside?

Yes, they’re probably gonna trade the LT they drafted 6th overall this year ALONG with Moore for that package. Why do you even spend time typing up these fantasy novels?

Red Dawg 10-12-2022 05:54 PM

Trade for pass rush. We need that more.

Whole thread is hilarious

Moore is absolutely talented and would be a serious threat...if he had time to pick up the system. Pass Rush is a much bigger need. Brian Burns ranks 2nd is pass rush win percentage next to Bosa. That is a difference maker that would make the whole defense better. Secondary could actually play aggressive because they know the QB has to get rid of the ball. Not having to blitz Sneed every 5 plays to get pressure would be nice.

Rushing 4 and playing 7 in coverage is a luxury every AFC West team has, as do the Bills/Bucs. Basically Mahomes has to be a magician every time he goes out, but I would love it if we could give him some help from the run game (O-line is next biggest need before WR), and some time to make a decision.

That said, I still can't believe how good Mahomes is that he has to overcome a shaky line and an inconsistent run game every week. Seriously, it's unbelievable how good that guy is.

at this point someone should change the thread title so it doesn’t look like this has any basis in reality, since it doesn’t.
