How are the Lions your second favorite team? You must live in Michigan or something.

Sweet, we have a couple of Lions fans to play with!!

Great offense! That _efense tho.... oof. Said it before, saying it again: this Lions team reminds me of the Vermeil Chiefs teams: score a ton of points, but can't stop anyone from doing the same.

What you've got stacked against you here: Mahomes, Kelce, Andy, and the best O in the league. Andy with a whole off-season to prepare. Arrowhead. A crowd plus amped, as the SB banner is raised. Thursday Night Football, season opener energy. This adds up to an absolute blender. Don't feel bad if it is a slaughter... that is an insanely tough way to open the season. Good luck the rest of the way!!

Loved watching as a wee lad, those great KC/Oak games. Thats what got me hooked on the sport. Have family south of KC and have driven by Arrowhead. Looking forward to actually going to a game there, let alone a nationally televised opener. Curious to hear if the stadium is as loud as the old Silverdome during Barry's years was. Can't miss me, I'll be the old fart in Lions gear. If you're interested, please come visit our forum "Detroit Lions The Den". Hope this doesn't break a rule.

For the game, we didn't play any starters of last year's team during preseason. Having two joint sessions (NYG & Jax), the starters got their work there. Came thought relatively injury free. We have gotten deeper on all three levels of the defense, via a solid draft and key FA signings. Expect heavy DL/LB rotations, we are deep here. Fourth quarter will be interesting.

This is the first game in over two years with starting Oline (Decker, JJackson, Ragnow, BigV & Sewell). Also have a brand-new upgraded RB room, but feel we are weaker at WR than last year. Hopefully rookie TE LaPorta can fill the void. Should be a helava game! Of course, hoping for a Lion win and making it out of there alive.

GOOD LUCK!

Welcome to ChiefsPlanet. I gave you the golden ring, you're welcome. I really, really, really wanted Gibbs to fall to us but you snatched him up. That's OK, we're solid with 2/3rds of our RB group. We use recievers best anyway as you'll witness next Thursday. Good luck and "Eat a Bag O dicks"

I'm a bit biased, but not sure it can get much better than prime time Arrowhead (of course, besides playoff primetime Arrowhead). Get there early, tailgate, spend all of your money.

I dunno, between another SB victory, a new airport, and trash bins... we're flying pretty high right now. 0-1 would just be a flesh wound by comparison.

Defense is much better than its record last year would indicate. Over the last 10 games points against went down to 21 per. Lots of players got healthy and rookies stepped up. This off-season the entire secondary save one safety was upgraded, and that was the weakness. And the one safety retained was a rookie last year, and was super good. D line is loaded with pass rushers. LB corps is stacked. Biggest question mark is DT and run defense.

They won't be a top 5 unit, but I expect top 12-15. Which is good enough if the offense can repeat its top 5 performance. I expect some regression there, but the team is built to compete with anyone. The Champs in Arrowhead is a tall task. KC should rightly be favored, but the game will be competitive. Throw in typical early season variance and I wouldn't be shocked to see an upset.

WTF. All 3 Lions fans joined? Nice.

Whoa there, slow your roll, Jabroni.

A jump from dead last to 12-15 would be massive. I wouldn't bank on it if I were you, but hey, you do you. Maybe your Lions will get there by end of season, but game one... ouch. This is the worst possible draw for anyone.

Lol, if this was a week 5 game I'd put a paycheck on the chiefs money line. But week one is always crazy to predict. Lots of rust and new players not experienced in the system. Weird things always happen.

Hammock Parties 08-30-2023 06:22 PM

You have to admire Lions fans. Aaron Glenn's defenses have been THIS garbage for two years and they think it's going to magically get better.

Not saying we'll win, but +6 1/2 is money.

I quit betting because I suck at it, so there's that...
