It's not the way they're doing this.

That's false.

They offered Tyreek almost 25 million. They just balked at 28-30 and decided to do a mini-reload.

You're gonna be real mad when the Chiefs can't trade up for a WR next Spring bc they only have 5 draft picks and they can't afford a high profile WR in FA bc that money is going to Chris Jones.

If Jones walks for nothing they'll still have 5 picks next Spring, and will have another hole to fill.

Never seen a fanbase so eager to trade or let HOF players walk away.

It's not false, you just stated why there. If they operated that way, they'd have paid him whatever and worried about the rest later.

They didn't and don't operate that way. With two SB trophies in hand, they're playing the long game.

Paying defensive players 3rd contracts rarely works out well, unless the guy is just an absolute outlier HOF'er.

Your opinion. You have no idea what they are thinking.

They offered Tyreek a lot of money so your whole "theory" already proven wrong.

Their moves tell you all you need to know. But if you wanna live in fairy land, I guess we can all think whatever

If it was SB or bust year by year, they'd have paid said HOF talent whatever money and not traded him.

Yeah, you would know about "Fairy Land".

"They wanted to pay the guy, he wanted more than they wanted to pay him so they traded him/let him go".

Sounds awfully familiar to what will happen with Chris Jones, but enjoy Neverland

Read the article posted here. They're not gonna tie up 30 however much million into a guy on the cap via the tag during FA.

His agents played the game and ****ed the Chiefs. Time to move on OBJ style.

It's crazy that people don't understand the value of flexibility. Extra picks and insane money not being spent on aging players is the formula the Patriots used for years and it's also the formula the Chiefs used in the Tyreek trade.

The Chiefs only have 5 draft picks. That's the least amount of draft capital they've had since 2002.

That's not how to keep a dynasty going. They need picks and they'll need money for future years.

Was just going to post this. If Charvarius is worth $13.5M/yr, there's no way Sneed is only worth $7M.

Ward is a nice player and we really fleeced the Cowboys on that trade, but he's nowhere near the player Sneed is.

Not the choice at all.

You can keep your best players if you don't pay guys like MVS 10-11 million a year or Frank Clark 20,000,000 or Anthony Hitchens 10-12 Million.

BTW, Jones cap hit this year is almost 27,000,000 and I don't see a Dan Sorenson on the roster.

So complete fiction what you created.

No, it's a reality that you choose to ignore.

Sometimes the free agent signings don't prove worth the squeeze. Even when they look like a sure thing. And then you're stuck with them.

Which is why I would rather spend the money on our guys that we KNOW fit here than the guys other teams decided they would rather not pay.
