But MAN it's a bad look when you lose your shit on the sideline, make that comment to Josh - whether it was letting off steam with a friend or not - then double and triple down in the presser when you're 100% in the wrong.

He just...wouldn't...stop. With that said, I'd bet it all that we'll never see it happen again.

Its an accumulation of issues not just that play. The week before he gave the NFL standard line when MVS was absolutely interfered with on a crucial play and no call.

He constantly gets hit in the head and roughed up and very few times gets a flag.

The ridiculous calls on Taylor to start the season started all of this. It isn't Mahomes losing his shit over one play, he finally reached a boiling point.

I'm 100% fine with it as well. When was the last time Reid blasted the officials like that? Does he seem to be emotionally driven when it comes to refs usually? No, that should tell you something.

If a casual fan thinks Mahomes lost his shit because of one call that’s fine.

Anyone following this team knows the entire frustration of this year finally burst out.

Good. I don’t know what else they can do but a pissed off Mahomes can only help at this point because way too many people along for the ride and no one taking ownership of the results.

This is what pisses me off the most.

You want to call the Chiefs for every false start they have? Fine. Just be consistent and call it the same way across the league. You can see us getting penalties for the exact same thing the Bills are doing IN THE SAME GAME... or the Eagles, or any other NFL offensive line. Offensive lineman have been getting a jump on the snap for years and they are just now deciding to call it specifically on one team.

FYP.

That’s exactly what bothers me because the Taylor penalties are not because he’s doing something new this year. He’s always done that and it was never a penalty until now. Other players do the same thing with no call. It’s blatant targeting. Not saying he hasn’t committed some penalties, but it’s gotten beyond ridiculous.

Of course it's an accumulation - but for ****'s sake, make your point on the field and move on. I could completely understand this happening on the MVS DPI no call last week, but to go scorched earth and double/triple down when the officials actually did their job correctly?

It makes you look like a ****ing moron.

Just received a text from a member here who said, "this is gonna be an ugly publicity week."

And they are right. Would that have been the case had he lost his shit LAST week? Not in my opinion, I'd bet most would see it as justified.

just kind of confirms what we've been seeing

Really only 4-5 games where KC had more than 3 penalties than the other team and I believe KC won them all, aside from yesterday. Odd that the Raiders had 0 penalties.

It was technically a penalty, but if the penalty was deviation from common practice in the past it raises questions. Especially when it seems like you have been getting ****ed every single week with bad calls.

To your point, I hope this does make him go nuclear on the field the rest of the season.

Dude, how was that a deviation from common practice?

How often do you see a WR line up a FULL YARD ahead of legal? As DJLN said somewhere, they HAVE to call that. It's blatant. And the fact that Andy came out today and said Toney was only an "inch or two" from legal is a ****ing terrible message to send. Shit, just give the media the same, "I take full responsibility and we'll get it fixed" bullshit that you've been saying all year while never fixing things. That's better than continuing to make it as if it was a bad call, or even a close one.

And I'm not sure what games you're watching, but we GET a lot of calls as well. Everyone here forgets them and focuses on when we get ****ed.

When the team starts acting like the fanbase when it comes to refs, it's a problem.

Red Dawg 12-11-2023 03:15 PM

Toney is an idiot and it's bash Mahomes day in the media.

Hog's Gone Fishin 12-11-2023 03:16 PM

Coaches blast refs on camera ALL THE TIME. If a QB can't do that then that's just racist!

He wasn't remotely a yard offsides, JFC.

You seem to act like officiating is good and there aren't calls damn near every game that effect the outcome.

Sorry but if it wasn't a common practice to give a warning there, Reid wouldn't have been livid about it.

Kansas City Chiefs coach Andy Reid acknowledged that receiver Kadarius Toney lined up offside on the would-be game-winning play in Sunday’s loss to the Buffalo Bills that was called for a penalty, but also reiterated his assertion that officials typically warn coaches before throwing a flag for those types of violations.

“You see it on both sides (of the ball),” Reid said Monday. “Whether it’s a defensive end lining up in the neutral zone sometimes or that. You just give the head coach a heads up and, in our case, we tell ’em.

“And then if they get called … listen … you were warned. That’s how it’s worked over the years and that’s what I was really trying to get across.”

Quote:

Reid admitted Monday that Toney was not lined up properly and didn’t check with down judge Mike Carr before the snap — something Reid said the player normally does. The coach added that his criticisms were not meant to serve as an excuse or blame the loss on the officials.

“We’ve always had a good working relationship with these guys and that’s the important part,” he said. “They know when they tell me something … I’m gonna go address the guy like right now and make sure that it gets changed.”

Reid said penalties like this one were among several things Kansas City needs to clean up.

“Do we need to line up right? Yeah. We do.” Reid said. “We’ve gotta take care of that part and not put it in the officials’ hands.”

Andy Reid on the Chiefs' lack of attention to details, especially in late-game situations: "I get paid to teach. I'm going to continue to each. The players are going to continue to work."

Yup its the constant inconsistency in calling penalties that's maddening, I don't know how people don't understand that.

ArrowHeader 12-11-2023 03:34 PM

The frustrations are starting to boil over and it’s not hard to see why. If the league heard what I said sitting on my couch I would be banned for life. I’ve never seen a team get ****ed like a house cat repeatedly in their own house. Plenty of other reasons we keep losing. Namely not playing 4 quarters and playing hero ball at the end, but I digress. These shit calls don’t help so **** the league and their shit ass refs. Just terrible.
