We're fairly deep at DE but generating pressure was a struggle in 2024. The team was among the sack leaders in 2022 and 2023. Must have been a coverage issue in 2024.

Well yeah, teams roasted us in the slot this year.

Three corners that can cover just might be the secret sauce of the Spagnuolo scheme.

Forever people thought it was dominant four-man pass rush, but it’s not. His brain for defense shows through the pressure packages and often times that means bringing 5-6 rushers.

You need cover corners to do that at the elite level they did in ‘23.

Outside of QB, there's no position that should be off limits to draft. It wouldn't hurt to get better at each position. Just a matter of choosing the best player available outside the 1st round.

Nope. In fact, there's a decent chance a LT at 31 couldn't beat them out. This isn't the best year to take a tackle and taking one based on perceived need would be pretty silly.

No, no draft is ever wide open. No.

Imagine being this ****ing obtuse LMAO

"Wide open" simply means the Chiefs can take the BPA on their board without having to worry too much about need. That's all.

And I say this somewhat tongue in cheek because obviously they’ve gotten by going cheap at CB, and their jobs are made easier by the pressure packages…

But seven years in now, there should be zero questions as to what he needs to thrive with the defense

staylor26 03-21-2025 03:13 PM

Starks(R1) Hicks

Fulton McDuffie Watson

Tranquil Bolton

Omenihu Jones Collins(R2) Karlaftis

That would be fun

We have a damn good team.

Better defense than last year and offense.

No reason we won't go to the SB again this year. I know we still have the draft, but which AFC contending team really improved in FA?

We are looking good.

The team that has the best draft between KC and Buffalo probably wins AFC.

Buffalo’s picks currently:

Round 1: No. 30 overall
Round 2: Nos. 56 (from Vikings through Texans), 62
Round 4: Nos. 109 (from Bears), 132
Round 5: Nos. 169 (Compensatory Selection), 170 (from Cowboys; Compensatory Selection), 173 (Compensatory Selection)
Round 6: Nos. 177 (from Giants), 206

Chiefs picks currently:

Round 1: No. 31 overall
Round 2: No. 63
Round 3: Nos. 66 (from Titans), 95
Round 4: No. 133
Round 7: Nos. 226 (from Panthers), 251 (Compensatory Selection), 257 (Compensatory Selection)

Buffalo has 10 picks to our 8, but we edge them out where it counts with four in the top-100 to their three.

Buffalo wasn't a better team than Baltimore last year.

They got lucky that Lamar spun around and put the ball on the ground for them to grab and lucky that Ravens kept dropping or turning over the football.

RunKC 03-21-2025 03:53 PM

Veach won’t reach on another project LT in the first rd. He’s not dumb.

But if he did…

Your post answers my reasoning for not lumping Baltimore in.

Baltimore always shits down their leg before they can get it done. Why would I expect that to change?

With Allen, at least he generally plays really well in the playoffs.

Yeah, looks like we have just a little more draft capital in the first 2 days and they have quite a few dart throws in the back end.

Raw capital won't be enought determine the outcomes there. Either one of them could end up with more productivity than the other through nothing more than better scouting work.

In other words, sure they were.

If you choke and make crushing mistakes, you aren't better.

We're getting a WR1 back that we didn't have last year, an upgrade at one of the most important positions in football in LT, signed a pretty good corner...

It's going to be hard for Buffalo to top that AFTER we just beat them in the conference championship game, no matter what their draft looks like.
